Chapter 8: The Misguided Hero?

Kentaro:"As I said, who are you?"

?:"Is that anyway to treat a lady? As I said myself, you intrigued my Lord. I've come to...check on you"

Kentaro:"Check?"

?:"As I just said, I came to check on you"

Kentaro:"On who's authorizes?"

?:"Heh. You really think I'll say from who? We demons have a rule to never speak our names in the public world"

Kentaro:"A Demon?! What did I do to gain the attention of them?!"

?:"We had noticed a rather...interesting event. Two actually"

Kentaro:"Two?"

?:"Yes. One where a dragon had showed itself within kingdom borders. Dragons are more than aware what happens when they do but yet, this dragon was pulled in from quite a powerful aura"

Kentaro:"I'm the reason the dragon appeared?!"

?:"This event was more direct since it was you who unleashed your magical aura, isn't it?"

Kentaro:"Yeah so what?"

?:"Such a raw, powerful aura. My question but also concern is...why is it upon a young one? Normally, this power is birthed to demons and gods, not a mortal. That is one possibility, second possibly answer is that one of the elemental dragons have blessed you their power. But I do not sense neither in you. This just comes to the last two possible choices"

Kentaro:"Even in deep thought, her presence alone is screaming with murder"

?:"Either you're a summoned or have been reincarnated from somewhere!"

Kentaro:"The first three is my idea but reincarnation? I never added or mention something like that at all"

?:"If you're a summoned then the war between the demons and gods are closer than we had thought. Then again, if you're a reincarnation then I wonder from where and why did you obtain such a highly magical aura. This is truly intriguing as you could be consider friend or foe then. It just depends what side you take; the demons, the gods, the humans, or the monsters"

Kentaro:"I think we both know what side I've taken"

?:"One can change sides, either it be by will...or by force!"

He holds his sword tighter in his hands.

?:"But it's not worth the effort. You may have power but it's nothing when this inexperienced and young. I'll delay this for another time, when the time is right for the picking"

She disappears by snapping her fingers, leaving him alone. He puts his sword away and falls to the ground.

Kentaro:"There's way too much going on. Can't I catch a break?"

After having to deal with the demon encounter, he made sure to keep his sword close and to keep himself on guard if she does come back for him. Waking up, he received a training quest.

Kentaro:"Our first class? Wonder what the topic is"

He grabs his training gear and heads down to meet Kaneza and Nobi at the front door entrance.

Kaneza:"About Time! You took forever"

Nobi:"We were just here for only a couple of seconds..."

Kentaro:"Hey guys, any idea what the training will be?"

Kaneza:"Not a clue. Since it's the first one of the spring season then it'll be basics most likely"

Kentaro:"Guess I'm not the only newbie who joined"
