do not treasure, the flower

i can be that small no-name
blossom seating next to the weeds
on the riverbank or the bloom
that grew between the cracks
of pavements, the ones that
are pulled and left for dead,
the ones that are stepped on.
without a single shred of
conscience. i am invisible,
a commonplace thing that
has no meaning.
