Richards picked up Casey in front of the apartment complex and started driving. "Where to now?" He inquired. Casey sat in the back of the car, watching her child sleeping in his car seat. She didn't respond so Richards repeated his question.
"I need to go home."
Richards almost slammed on his brakes. "What?! Are you shitting me right now? You just wanted to leave him! What happened up there?"
Casey wanted to tell him everything. She wanted to divulge her plans to him and confess to every sin she was going commit, but there was only one person who would understand. And she wasn't here.
"She told me what I needed to hear. She gave me her forgiveness. I know you want answers, but I don't have them. I wish I did. You need to trust me and take me home. If anything changes, then I'll let you know. Believe me on that, if nothing else."
Richards glances at her from the rear view mirror and just gives her a grunt of approval, she assumed. "Must have been one hell of a conversation." Richards muttered.
Casey heard him, but chose not to respond. This was nothing. The real conversation was going to be between her and Patricia. She needed to appeal to her, mother to mother. She needed to convince Patricia to betray everything she believed in for a hopeful idea. That was the only reason why Casey was going home. She needed to go home for Patricia and if that failed, then she really was on her own.
Before Casey got out of the car, she asked Richards one last question. "Who was the police officer who took me in?"
Richards was not expecting that, but he answered her as soon as the shock wore off. "Officer Shawn David. Why?"
Casey shrugged and replied, "I never knew who to thank for setting me free." She closed the car door and didn't look back.

The Beast and Elizabeth returned with four more impures to be locked away on the third floor. Casey acted normal, she pretended to be happy to see them return and even let Elizabeth hold Baylor while she embraced the Beast. She asked them how everything went, what the plan was, what was going to be the message this time. It wasn't until Elizabeth left their room that Casey was able to finally say what she had been holding in.
"Beast, when can I talk to Patricia?" He was taken a bit aback, he had only been back two hours and she was already trying to get rid of him.
"Later, I suppose. Is there something I can help with?" The Beast tried not to see the brief disappointment on his love's face when he broke the news.
"No, it's nothing. I just wanted to talk to her, mom to mom. You know, cause we can't exactly go to the doctor's or anything if Baylor gets sick. I just wanted some advice." Casey brushed it off and took the Beast's hand. "Don't worry, everything is fine."
The Beast listened to Casey's heartbeat and knew she wasn't lying. Or if she was, then she learned how to fool him. "I'll send her your way in a bit. I'm hungry and there's an impure with my name on it upstairs." Casey walked him to the door and closed the door after he left. She turned her attention to Baylor and waited for Patricia to come.
The Beast took his time eating a female impure, even keeping her alive while he ate so he could feel her struggle under him. He wanted someone to suffer and she was a good candidate.
Casey fell asleep waiting for Patricia. She awoke when she felt someone gave her a small shake. "Wake up, sleepy head."
Casey smiled at her and slowly sat up. "Hey. I was hoping to speak to you." Patricia gave her a motherly smile and moved aside so Casey could sit next to her on the bed.
"I heard. What's wrong?" Casey didn't know where to begin, but she had to get something out of the way first.
"Is the Beast listening to us?" Patricia was confused, but she shook her head.
"No, he's in his train yard, sound asleep. He had a big meal. Is there something wrong between you two? I still disapprove of you not telling me that you two were seeing each other, by the by. I don't like being kept in the dark."
" I know. And I'm sorry. But I'll tell you everything." And Casey did. She started when she woke up from being shot and what the Beast told her and how she was feeling about everything. She chose to keep her mouth shut about leaving with Richards and the money, but she told her everything else. And Patricia listened.
"Oh, dear. The Beast won't do anything to hurt Baylor. He's going to be just fine."
"But can you tell me that with certainty? Are you willing to take that risk? Because I'm not."
Patricia stood up and walked over to the sleeping child. Casey could see her struggle to keep her composure.
"And what do you suggesting we do?" Patricia asked, keeping her eyes on Baylor.
"I want to talk to Kevin. Is that possible?"
Patricia flinched at the mention of his name. She had been visiting him, but he refused to even speak to her. He just laid there and ignored her. He didn't even tell her to leave. She didn't know what had happened, but the anger he had for her was painful.
"And what will Kevin do, dear? He is weak."
"That's what he thinks." Patricia turned to face Casey, frustration clear in her face.
"You're suggesting I go behind the Beast's back and wake up Kevin for what? What do you think he will do? You want me to betray the Beast because you lost trust in him?"
"No. I ask you to do this from one mother to another. You can't expect me to stand by and hope for the best for my son. You wouldn't do that for Kevin. You protected him and that's all I want to do for Baylor. Please, Patricia, I'm begging you."
Patricia once threatened to kill Casey if she threatened her family and that's all Casey could think of as she waited for Patricia to reply.
"I can't make any promises." She said in a soft voice. "But I can try."
"Thank you." Casey replied.
Patricia laid down on the bed beside Casey and closed her eyes. "Let's hope this works." Casey whispered to herself as Patricia closed her eyes and went to talk to Kevin.
