catching feelings..

"Well.. SPILL!" Dylan explaimed throwing the bag of muffins at Mackenzie's bed.
"Well he's super nice.. and yea he's wayy cuter when you're like close to him—" Mackenzie was cut of by Devenity.
"No she meant like in bed." she said in a 'duh' tone.
"Oh! He's freakin great. He's the best i've ever had."

Dylan and Devenity squealed, basically jumping up and down on the mini couch in her room.
"Kenz, you've officially had sex with a celebrity." Dylan sighed.
"I've always known you had it in you." Devenity said winking.

After about 30 mins of them just lounging around Mackenzie's apartment, Devenity spoke,
"Wanna hang out today with Hayden and Landon?"
"I actually can't today.." Mackenzie sort of whispered.
"Why not?" Dylan asked getting curious.

Mackenzie had a meeting with her manager in three hours about a possible collab for someone's new album. But she couldn't tell that to them. she had to think of something, quickly.

"I.. um.." she paused, "Oh ha I have a job interview." she finally came up with.
"A job interview?" Dylan and Devenity asked in unison, shocked.
"Yea.. a job interview!" Mackenzie said pretending to be enthusiastic.
"Where?" Dylan asked suspiciously.
"At um.." she hesitated.

Mackenzie looked around the room for an idea. she noticed the 'Krispy Kreme' box on her kitchen counter.

"At krispy kreme!" she said frantically.
"At krispy kreme?" Devenity asked in disbelief.
"Yes." Mackenzie said finalizing the lie she just told.
"So yea you guys should get going because i have to get ready!" she continued, gathering their things and basically nicely pushing them out of the door.
"Love you guys, see you later?" she said closing the door in their faces.

Mackenzie leaned against the door taking a deep breath. This secret had never been a problem keeping before. She thought to herself at some point she was going to have to tell her friends. Just not any time soon.

After Mackenzie got ready she met with her manager.

"Now before we go any further i have to ask you a few questions." Julian asked. (manager)
"shoot."
"Well Mackenzie, see i need to know if you're serious about this. You should also know that although this is a great opportunity, it'll only spark more questions about who you really are since no one knows what you look like. You have to be ready to reveal yourself sometime after the collab releases, but right now it's best to keep your identity a secret. It's good for publicity."

Mackenzie thought for a second. She knew she was serious about the music but wasn't sure she wanted to reveal herself anytime soon. Dylan and Devenity know about her secret identity, they like her voice, but they don't know it's her. She starts to think about how if she can't even tell them, how is she supposed to tell the rest of the world.

"Im 100% serious." she paused. "But im not so sure about the whole 'revealing who i am' thing. Ill have to think about that." she continued.
"That's fine, just remember it wouldn't be anytime soon so don't worry about it." Julian said reassuringly.
"Ok so who's this artist im going to be working with?"
"Johnny Orlando."

Mackenzie's heart dropped. Johnny?? Just her fucking luck. Would he tell anyone? How is she supposed to work with him professionally after seeing him naked? how is he?
Mackenzie frantically looked around the room.
"Um.. is he here right now?" she paused trying to hide, "Julian i told you i'm not ready for anyone to know." she said hiding under her hoodie.

"No, no. Mackenzie i know that. He's not here." he said.
"Oh." she said feeling stupid while taking off her hoodie.
"Yeah so, what's gonna happen is we set up a meeting for you guys, before you get all squeamish, it's a chat room. you guys will talk and share ideas." Julian said smiling at his joke.
"A chat room?" Mackenzie asked curiously.

Julian explained how to keep her identity a secret they couldn't give him her number or they couldn't video call, so he's making them use an anonymous text app.
The meeting was scheduled for later that day around 6:30.
