"So, the guys I threw into the lake were your guys?" I asked Luna Nightshade. She was sitting in front of me looking like a goddess. Elijah said he developed handcuffs that somehow stopped peoples powers. He tried explaining all the science but it went right over my head. But, so far they work. Luna was defenceless. I had the upper hand.
That didn't stop her from smiling at me methodically. "Yes. I didn't expect someone to steal my cargo. That really pissed me off. I would've sent my women if I'd know," she told me. "But, they were doing something important."
She was the gang leader of the Black Widows which Simon proved. Meaning that the most important thing to her was bringing down rival gangs. Specifically the Hansen Gang. "You want to make a deal?" I ask piquing her interest. "Let's say you knew something that could help destroy the Hansen gang. If you told everything you know about the Hansen Gang, I will give you something in return."
"And what is it that I get?" She asked with a smile. This smile she wore reminded me of the Cheshire cat.
"Tell me what you know and I will kill you," I smiled back at her. Simon always told me that this smile with my eyes scared people away. I remember this one time this girl was talking to Simon and was obviously making him uncomfortable. So I did what every good friend does, I claimed Simon was my boyfriend and gave her my lovely smile. A smile that says 'don't mess with me or you'll regret it'. I scared the shit out of her. It was hilarious.
"Why would I accept a deal like that?" Her laughter filled the room. It wasn't a creepy psychotic laugh. It was scarily calming.
I pulled Luna closer to me and whispered in her ear, "Because every day you spend alive with me, you'll be begging for the sweet release of death." She wasn't afraid of my threat. But I wasn't finished.
"What are you going to do? Torture me. You wouldn't be the first to do so," she growled. She was in handcuffs yet she was trying to intermediate me.
I laughed. I laughed at her stupidity. I tightened my grip on the collar of her shirt and whispered to her, "Don't worry. I won't lay a finger on you. I wouldn't want to risk you dying from being injured. I will, however, mess with your mind." She glared at me. For some reason she has hope. Hope she'll get out of here. "You know what I could do with your mind for just a few minutes. Imagine that 24/7. It'd drive you insane. Every day you'll have to deal with nagging voices telling you how worthless you are. Every day you'll live in fear of having a panic attack which, ironically, will cause you to have a panic attack. Which you've experienced before. It really isn't that nice, Is it? The feeling like someone is choking you. Like the whole world is untrustworthy. Like you are going to die. But yet death never comes.
"Somedays, you'll feel so empty that'd you'd beg to tortured. You'd beg for pain just to prove you're alive. Other days, you'll feel nothing but sadness for seemingly no reason. No one will notice except you. You'll feel like your drowning in the pain yet no one notices. Every time you wake up in the morning you'll think 'Not this again'. You will give up with this war inside your mind but you won't be able to kill yourself. I'll make sure of it. You'll live until mother nature claims you. Calls you back to the dirt you came from," I tell her. My harsh whispers got to her. Luna's heart started beating faster and her breath was off. She glared at me trying to cover up her fear but it didn't work.
I looked at her eyes. They were glossy looking like she was about to cry. "Aren't you suppose to be a big bad gang leader? I thought it'd take more to scare you," I tell her while taking my sit once again. "Tell me what you know. I'll take down the Hansen Gang, which is something we both once. Then after you see the takedown I'll kill you quick and fast. It's a win-win. Or a win-win-lose. Either way. I win."
