Connor's pov

I slid on my shirt before walking down the stairs. Dorota was talking about some tv show and I was looking at how Beth was pretending to listen and texting someone under the counter top. I looked on the mirror by the wall and ran my fingers through my hair.

My phone buzzed in my jacket pocket, I would get it but it was way to far away. I looked over as Dorota mentioned my name. Beth locked her phone as she walked near her to get a plate. Now I was curious on what they were going to say.

"The last girl I saw in here was a week ago. The only word I heard from her was harder."

"Okay Dorota, That's enough." I said looking down at the spaghetti "Oh, Beth doesn't like red sauce."

"Oh, Connor, It's fine."

"No Bethany, Don't worry I still have some plain in the fridge." Dorota smiled.

"Thank you."

I grabbed two cans of coke and a sprite before setting them down on the table. Dorota and Beth carried the dish over to the table as I sat down and looked at Beth's beeping phone. It was probably Sam.

She let out a laugh while typing back and I ignored it and pulled a spoonful of the pasta and handed it to Dorota. Sam doesn't understand the word no. I told him a million times to stop but of course he was Sam who didn't listen to anyone.

I played with my food as Dorota and Beth continued talking. I looked out the window. It wasn't raining anymore, thankfully. I looked all dark and grey outside still. Why is it always raining? Then again it is September but we live in California.

"Connor?" A deep voice before griping my shoulders "Meet my girlfriend, Sandra."

"Girlfriend?''

"Why hello, Bethany." He said as she laughed into her shoulder reciving a glare from me.

"Oh, hi Mr. Franta."

"Wait girlfriend?" I looked over at Dorota.

"Dorota go clean living room." She announced while walking off as Beth's phone rang.

"Don't answer it stay.''

"Trevor? What's wrong?" She asked whiled exiting.

"Seriously Trevor!?"

I looked over at the blonde women who was as tall as Bethany meaning she probably went to my shoulders. She looked a couple years younger than my dad which was okay. I guess. She shook her hand before sitting across from me next to Dad.

Did he not care that he was going to get his heart shredded? Women are lying, cheaters doesn't he of all people know that? She awkwardly looked around as my dad explained how things were going down.

They've been dating for 6 months and hid it from me. Nice dad, nice. I listened as my dad gave a long speech about how she could never replace my mother. I honestly don't care about her. They were dating good for them, but when she leaves with all his money I'll be saying I told you so.

Bethany's pov

I walked toward the dinning room just as Mr. Franta and Sandra left upstairs. Dorota walked past me and cleaned up the dinning room. I helped move the plates before walking over to Connor. I pulled him in for a hug and patted his back.

"I'm gonna laugh when she leaves him.''

''I wanted this to be a heartfelt moment between us and you ruined it." I laughed.

"What did Trevor need?"

"He said my mom and his dad are going out of town and leaving in 1 hour." I said "2 weeks alone again."
