Matt's POV

"GUYS GET YOUR BUTTS DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!" we heard Carter yell from downstairs. This better not be a prank. "Kaitlyn! Get up!", Emma yelled, "Hayes, hayes!" Gosh they can sleep threw anything. "HURRY THE HE** UP!" Taylor yelled. "Guys come on!" I yelled. We ran down the stairs and grabbed our phones. We got down there and the boys were running into the basement. Jack J was directing people down there. "GUYS, GO GO GO!" he yelled. "TORNADO!" he yelled after. We ran down there and Emma started crying. "What's wrong?" I said hugging her and Kaitlyn was also trying to comfort her. Taylor came up to her and tried to put his arms around her to hug her. "Don't" I said calmly to him and he backed away. I know if he got the chance he would try to steal her from me and that's not going to happen anytime soon. "Fine, hug her but your not getting anywhere with her." I said. Emma smiled. "So really what's wrong? Aren't there tornados in Chicago a lot?" I asked. "Well when I was littler we always had tornados and one time at school there was one and I freaked out because I was 7-" she answered but didn't finish. Instead she started crying her eyes out. Wait that's when her dad left. I wonder if that has anything to do with this. "The school didn't get touched. My mom and dad were at work so they weren't home when this happened." she said while proceeding to cry even more. "The home was gone. All of it was demolished." Oh my god I feel so bad for her. "So where did you live when this happened?" Hayes asked. "We lived in Indiana and then we moved to Chicago." she answered. "When I got home from school I thought everything was okay because the school wasn't touched. It wasn't. I got to the house and it was all over the place and my mom was standing there crying while my dad was yelling at her. I was too little to understand that-" she said. I think that was too much for her to say. She was balling while she said, "That is when he left." "Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I didn't know it was that bad." I said hugging her and giving her a kiss on the cheek. "He wasn't a nice guy. He stole my moms money to buy things and when the house was destroyed he left because he didn't think we had enough money. We do now because my mom got a new job but he didn't know that. He didn't treat me very nice as I got older. I haven't seen him sense then but all I know is he is somewhere." Oh my god. I would have helped her if I could but that's the past. The sirens went off after about an hour and we got Emma to settle down. It took a while but I mean she has reasons. Her dad left her when she was 7, she is very clumsy and hurts herself a lot, she doesn't do nice things to herself, and she only has all of us as her friends, no siblings. I feel bad. When the sirens went off we went up stairs and it was like 1:30. Nobody wanted to go back to sleep. We were a mess. We were laying on the couches and floor in the living room watching the news, on our phones, scared to go back to sleep. Emma was shaking again and so was I. Mrs. Johnson didn't even call us. I was sitting down on the couch and Emma was next to me laying her head on my shoulder. Hours went by and it was 3:30 and the storm had stopped. Emma's flight might be delayed but all I am hoping is that she is going to make it home okay. She wound up falling asleep for until her alarm started going off. She got ready. She was wearing black leggings, a shirt that I couldn't tell what it had on it, and a sweatshirt over the shirt. Her hair was in a messy bun with a bandana and she only wore concealer. She looked cute. Kaitlyn just put her hair up with a bandana and slipped on some flip flops. Hayes came wanted to come with too. Everyone wound up coming which I didn't personally like but that means I don't have to drive and I can sit next to and talk to Emma. Everyone got ready to go and we got in the two cars just so everyone could say goodbye. We talked and talked about random things. When we got there we all got out and hugged her. One more group hug until the tour starts. We have her an individual hug and I was last and after Kaitlyn. "I love you and I am going to miss you so so much." I said. "I love you more and I am going to miss you too." she said. "Well we will see you when Magcon starts." Nash yelled. I could see it in her face that she had forgot that she gets to go on your with us. "Oh my gosh I forgot!" she said and I just giggled. She punched me lightly in the arm and then waved and started walking. "Wait Emma!" I yelled and she stopped and looked back at me. "I hugged her and gave her a kiss. "I love you." I said and she replied with, "You already said that." "But I can never say it enough." I said and smiled. She smiled back. "I love you too." she said. As she was walking she yelled back, "Don't mess anything up!" "I'll try not to. No promises!" I said back and started laughing. We got in the car and started going back to the house.
