Todoroki and I sat in the villain's bar, watching the TV. Todoroki was attacking a plate of eggs savagely. I didn't know you could eat breakfast violently before today.
I sipped my water, watching the news story that had just come on.
A tired, agitated news reporter sat at a table. A crackling, shaky video appeared to her left. It was of me and Todoroki at the strip club. Todoroki was cutting and stabbing at someone off camera, no doubt Endeavor. I was flying from civilian to civilian, my clothes drenched in blood. The video cut off as I looked up at the phone, my eyes gleaming. "A disturbing attack occurred yesterday night at a night club," I loved how she didn't call it a strip club, like we're all denying their disgusting existence. "A mass murder, with 13 causalities, was committed by the S-rated villain known as Deku and the pro hero Shoto. Shoto's fall is a big shock to everyone, and, heroes will have to always be on high alert, since we lost our Number one hero and our Number five hero, Creati. Everyone is advised to be on high alert at all times. No one is quite sure where Deku will strike next. Now, onto Bill with the weather. Can we expect any rain today?"
Todoroki sighed, pushing his plate of eggs away. "I didn't even kill anyone. Why am I part of this?"
I shrugged. "Controversy equals views. If they dish out gossip, more people will listen in. That's just how it works in this world." I sipped my coffee, the bitterness giving me a jolt of energy. I technically wasn't supposed to drink coffee. It made me extremely hyperactive and impulsive. It put me on my killing 'high' before I even drew my knife.
Todoroki turned off the TV. "So, what now? Where do we go from here."
"Well," I started, thinking through my plan. "He knows that we're after him, so he's going to relocate again. He knows that we'll be scouring Tokyo, so he'll most likely leave the city. My best guess is that he'll go home to Musutafu, and try to fly under the radar."
"So where do we go, then? Where would we stay? Where would we find him?"
"We'll have to hang out with the League of Villains. And we'll have to go to your childhood home to find him."
Todoroki shuddered. "Bad memories of both of those places."
"Mmm," I nodded, "But facing your fears is all part of becoming a villain."
Todoroki stopped drinking his water mid-sip. "Who said I wanted to be a villain?"
I snorted. Unbelievable. He's too far into this to back out now. "Well, you're out on a mission to kill someone. I'd think that that could be considered a 'villainous' act."
"He had it coming. I'd be doing the world a service." Todoroki protested.
"That was Stain's ideal, angel."
Todorki looked defeated. "I'm still a hero."
"A hero can't fall in love with a villain, angel." I said. I had hoped that I wouldn't have to play this card, but sometimes the least desirable card is the only effective one.
Todorki looked at the wall, his eyes brimming with emotion. "I don't want to be a villain, but I don't want to lose you. So what am I, Deku. What am I?"
I stood up and walked over to him, hugging him from behind, wrapping my arms around his waist. I kissed his cheek. "You're human, Todoroki." I whispered. "Not all of us are entirely good or bad. Who you choose to be is up to you and only you."
Todoroki nodded. "But, if I want you to be here with me, don't I have to become one of you?"
"Most likely."
Todoroki hung his head. "It's all just too much to handle sometimes. I mean, I'm sitting in the headquarters of Tokyo's largest group of villains, on some crazy mission to kill my father with the love of my life, who happens to be a villain." he laughed dryly. "It almost seems like a fever dream."
"You're not dreaming, Todoroki Shoto. This is all very real." I let go of him. Time to say what I hoped would convince him to accept his place as a villain. "And you'd better decide which side your on. Until then, I'm afraid that we can't be together. After all, heroes and villains aren't meant to be together."
It hurt me to say it, but it needed to be said. I needed for him to be a villain. I needed for him to be on my side. I loved him, and I would do whatever it took to keep him.
It's a bit short, but I've legit been writing my novel for the entire day. I feel a bit brain dead because of it. Either way, I hope you guys like it!
