"Blake's trouble, and you know it" I hear the woman's voice coming from somewhere at my left.
"I know, I said I'll handle Luke" A familiar voice says.
I frown in my half asleep state, trying to remember whose voice that was.
"Why was he selling at the club then?" She scolds.
"Fuck, I said I'll handle with it" He raises his voice, impatience in the way he talks "Just mind your own business, alright? I'm the one who deals with the boys"
Ashton. Ashton is his name.
"Yeah, well, I'm the one who keeps you from getting yourselves killed, so don't act like I'm useless in this"
"You're not" He says coldly "It's not like we couldn't keep our shit together without you though"
There's a moment of silence and I finally open my eyes, curious. Also I only realize then that I'm completely naked in the bed, hugging the pillow beside me, which is probably the one Ashton used, and a soft blanket covers my body.
Through the kitchen counter I can see the small hall, where Ashton stands serious in front of the opened door. I can't see who he's talking too though, since the girl remains on the outside of the apartment.
"You won't mind if I just leave then" She speaks again and I notice her voice slightly cracking.
I observe as Ashton shrugs "Well, I know you wouldn't. You gotta do it for Ryan, don't you?" There's somethig almost threatening in how he says that.
I divert my gaze from where he is, suddenly feeling uncomfortable to be watching the scene. My eyes roam over the bed and I find my clothes at my feet, reaching for my shorts. I'm still way to sleepy to put them on, I just want to get my phone. I wonder what time it is.
I hear the woman's humorless laugh "You are... I'm just gonna g..." She's interrupted by my phone's thousand notifications as I turn it on.
Shit. I try pressing it against the sheets in attempt to muffle the stupid ring but it doesn't work. There's complete silence on the hallway when the anoying noise finally stops. I close my eyes in frustration, feeling my cheeks burn from embarassament.
I hear the woman mumbling something before the door is closed and footsteps come closer. I instinctively pull the sheets to my chest when Ashton appears, a small smirk forming in his lips as he sees me.
"It's not much use to cover yourself" He says, laughing lowly "I saw them last night, girl"
I can feel my face going red, but I simply roll my eyes, deciding to ignore his comment.
"Sorry about that" I apologise, grabbing my phone once again "My friend sent me a whole bunch of messages"
"It's fine, Carol was about to leave anyway" He looks at me while resting on the wall, his fingers tapping on his thigh.
I nod slowly, still sitting awkwardly on the bed "And Carol is...?"
He laughs, shaking his head "You should call your friend, I'll make you something to eat"
I narrow my eyes with a small smile, my gaze following him to the kitchen "How mysterious" I mock.
"I'll tell you about her after you call your friend, she must be worried" He says from behind the balcony, turning around so he was no longer facing me.
It's better this way probably, otherwise I think I'd be quite embarrassed to put my clothes on with him watching me. After getting dressed I walk till the bathroom, taking a good look at myself in the mirror before calling Amanda. I seem slightly different.
