Parker's POV
A few weeks later
It's been about a month since Mom left, and James came back after a few days of being gone. Everyone seems to be getting worried about the situation. James told us that Mom had to stay to help some people he knew.
I'm guessing James wasn't thinking that it would take Mom this long to help because he is the most filled with worry out of the entire household. He is the closest with Mom, so it makes a lot of sense; however, Dad isn't completely freaking out about it.
"Parker! Let's go!" I hear Kalvin yell at me from downstairs. I quickly finish up, and head to the car with Kalvin, Lowell, and Laura. We all head off to the store to get things for Thanksgiving tomorrow, as we are having a bunch of family eat with us this year.
A few hours later
"I can't wait to see Tía Eli and Tío Marcus soon for Thanksgiving!" I hear Laura groan slightly at Lowell's excitement. "That means I have to deal with our cousins...great..." I chuckle at her, and we just sit comfortably for the ride home.
I've got a hold of the ingredients to make stuffing, the potato salad, and a few drinks. I head inside the house, and into the kitchen to set everything down. "You got the potato salad right?" I look up to see Tía Eli smiling happily. I gasp, put the items down, and give her a big hug. "I didn't know you all were already here!"
I hear a gasp, and turn around to see Laura and Lowell at the door. They quickly push me to the side, and give Tía Eli a group hug. "Have you all seen your Mom? I've been needing to talk with him." We glance at each other with a grim look, "Mom hasn't been home for about a month. He's been helping some people he knew."
Tía is about to respond, but she is cut off by some sort of energy sound. Tía Alice, Tía Payton, and Briana come through a portal in the living room. Kalvin enters the front door, sets his groceries down, and heads over to Briana. I see Kalvin blush slightly as Briana is leaning towards him, a smirk on her face.
I walk up to them, "Hey Briana! Kalvin are you blushing?" He growls slightly and walks away from us; while, we look at each other and burst out laughing. "So Mom told me you found your mate. Is he cute?" Now I'm blushing slightly, and she laughs even more.
"Where is Mom anyways? We haven't seen or heard from him in a month." She plays with a strand of her hair slightly, "He actually got here before us." I stare at her with shock written across my face. She of course notices, "If you haven't seen him then he is either with Dad, or he is resting. Don't go looking in his room though as he does need to sleep."
Couple Hours Later
Dad enters through the front door, and I notice that Mom isn't with him; which means, he is upstairs sleeping. All our relatives bombard him with hugs, and a few get him into a conversation. Briana tells Dad something, and he heads upstairs very quickly. "I guess Dad's going to check on Mom." Everyone nods their head in agreement, and we continue to watch Kalvin and Natalie play some video games.
"Food's ready! Come and eat, everyone!" We all crowd the kitchen, grabbing what we want to chow down on. I grab charro beans, mashed potatoes, turkey, and soda for myself. I sit down next to Briana and our younger cousin, Garrison. "Hey, where's Robert and Oliver?" Most people just shrug in response to Abuelito, but a few look around the room. "I'll go and get them." Briana sets down her plate on the coffee table, and heads upstairs to our parents' room.
There is an air of extreme tension while we wait for Briana to return with our parents. "We're comin' down!" Briana yells out as she is the first one down the stairs. She's followed by Dad, and then Mom walks down; however, Mom is in his tiger form for some reason. I look to see that everyone is in some form of excitement, other than my siblings, my cousins, and I.
Dad sits down with some food, and Mom curls up at his feet. Some clears their throat, and Dad looks up from his food. He chuckles slightly, "Okay, for those of you that don't know what's going on... Robert is carrying pups!" There are many congrats, and words of excitement from everyone; even the much younger ones are happy about the news.
James and I sit next to Mom and Dad, both of us giving Mom some form of attention. The next few hours seem to just fly by with how much fun we have hanging out, and playing together as a family. After all the events, we have to sadly say goodbye to all our relatives and family. Our Abuelitos decide to stay a bit longer, as we rarely go to see them now that we're older.
Abuelita teaches us a bit more supportive magic, and Abuelito teaches us a bit of defensive maneuvers against different types of magic. Abuelito beings to create a power wave, in which we have to defend against. I choose to create a barrier, while James, Natalie, Christopher, and Reagan chose different approaches.
The power wave is set off, and my barrier stood no chance. I'm launched a bit away, and hit the ground hard. I slowly look up to see Natalie and Abuelito the only ones standing. I slowly get up, and all you hear are groans of pain from everyone. "How the hell did you defend against that?" I look towards Natalie with a bit of envy.
"Used a power wave of my own. Offense is the best Defense!" I look towards Abuelito, who is just smirking at me. "I would advise against doing that again, unless you know that your stronger than the opponent. The reason you were able to defend it was because I wasn't using a lot of power behind it." Natalie sighs slightly in defeat, in which I mentally cheer for Abuelito taking her down a peg.
"I think that's enough, as your abuela and I have to head home." I turn around to see Abuelita at the back door with Mom. We all give our abuelitos group hugs, and give the farewells. We turn to our parents, and everyone throws as many questions as they can at them. "Okay Okay. You all need to calm down. You're overwhelming your mother a bit." We look to Mom, and see him with his paws cover his ears. To which we apologize in some form.
'Thank you. Now, I don't know how many I'm having; however, I'm going to guess one or two. For how far along I am, I'm almost through the first month. Other than that I don't know much else.' A few of the girls are giddy about new additions to the family, while James has this protective look in his eyes.
After a long day of being with family we head up to our rooms to sleep. I open my door to my room with James, and Lowell. As I enter the room, there is a black figure with red eyes standing in the middle of the room. I back into the door slightly, and turn to face the door; however, the door is gone now. I turn back to see the figure gone, and a fire starting to break out.
I close my eyes hoping for this to go away, "-arker. Parker!" I open my eyes to James snapping his fingers in front of my face. "You okay?" I slowly nod, and head to the bathroom to get myself together. What the fuck was that, and why was I the only one that saw it? I head to bed hoping that this will blow over, and just leave me out of it.
