About two months after they started sleeping together they went out to eat with their friends. They were all at the diner when they waitress said "What can I get for you." Everyone gave their order then it was Preslynn's turn.
"Um I want a double cheeseburger with extra pickles and onion rings." she said
"Okay I'll get your alls order in." she said
Bucky leaned in and said "Baby are you alright you have been eating a lot of pickles and onion rings lately."
"Yeah I'm fine." she said as she took a sip of her cherry coke.
After they ate their dinner they went out to the movies and it was the late movie so she fell asleep in the movie by 1030PM. Once the movie was over he woke her up and he said "Baby are you sure that you are alright you have never been falling asleep like this."
"I'm fine I swear. I want some pie." she said
He stopped and got her some peanut butter pie with some vanilla ice cream. After they got back to the dorm they had sex then she fell asleep instantly. The next morning she was eating a donut in her kitchen and he said "Baby um have you had your period?"
"I had one for like 3 days last month it was spotty but yeah donut?' she said
"No I'm not hungry. Baby I'm worried about you I haven't known you that long but I have never seen you be this tired or this hungry or crave pickles as much as you have lately." he said
"Buck baby I'm fine." she said
He pulled her closer to him and he whispered "Baby I"m worried please let me take you to the doctor."
She looked down and he said "If nothing's wrong then I won't ask anymore but baby I'm scared we are both still with Ashley and Josh and we haven't exactly been using condoms as back up."
"Fine if it will make you feel better we can go." she said
She pulled her boots on and coat then found her wallet with her insurance card. She got into her Bucky's truck. They pulled up in front of a medical building then she saw the name of the Dr Maximoff and he said "Wanda's mom is a baby doctor." as he got out of the truck and opened the passenger door.
She got out and he walked upstairs with her and he said "Hey Julie.."
"James what are you doing here?" she said
"Um do you have time for a walk in." he said
"Yeah sure come on back we just opened up I have some time." she said
They went back and he said "I would really appreciate it if you didn't tell my mom you seen me."
"James what's wrong?' she said
"This is Preslynn Carter she's friends with Wanda at NYU she cheers with her and hangs out with all of us. Um we have been sleeping together for the past 3 months and she's on the shot and we haven't used condoms and um she's been craving a lot of pickles and falling asleep and very hungry. She said that she had a period last month but it was spotty." he said
"Preslynn fill this out for me and let me have copies of your insurance card." Dr Maximoff said
"Yeah." she whispered
She took the paper and pen and started to fill out the new patient form and then she started to cry. "Baby whats the matter I just want to make sure you are not pregnant pee tests are wrong sometimes." he whispered then he looked down at her form and he whispered "You have been pregnant before."
She shook her head yes then looked down to finish the form. "Baby what happened?' He whispered
"I lost it at 15 weeks." she said
She gave the form to Dr Maximoff when she came and gave her a gown then she stripped down then waited for her to come back. Bucky walked over to her and said "Baby is that why you keep telling me you didn't want to come here cause you are scared."
"I'm scared not only because of that but because we are still with significant other and if I'm pregnant I have to tell Josh that I cheated just like you have to tell her. And I'm also scared that I feel like I'm not in love with Josh anymore but I know you still love her so um we will just figure it out." she said
Dr Maximoff came in and started the exam then started the ultrasound up and she said "Well Ms Carter you are definitely pregnant. What you thought was your period last month was implantation bleeding that happens 5-7 days after implantation happens so I would say that you conceived late October which means you are due in July heartbeat sounds good you are about 8 and half weeks." then she turned on the sound to hear the heartbeat again.
Then she said "Come back in 3 weeks and get you some prenatal vitamins and no cheering." as she hands them copies of the ultrasound and a napkin for Preslynn to get the gel off of her stomach.
She started to get dressed then they got in the car. Once they got back to campus she opened the door herself and went in before he could say a word. She started to pace her dorm and he came in and said "Hey are you mad at me? Cause you could of said we have to stop at anytime this isn't all my fault."
She said "I know that James I'm not mad at you. Im mad at myself because I have feelings for you and I'm pregnant with your baby but I know you don't feel the same way cause you still tell her you love her even if she doesn't say it back."
He looked down and she said "I have a class I have to go." as she grabbed bag and wiped tears.
Bucky sat on the arm of the couch and he whispered "damn it. God fucking damn it" as he slammed the door to her room to go to his. He packed a bag then booked a flight to LA then left.
That night she waited all night for Bucky to come to her room but he never showed up. He never bothered to answer his phone either nobody knew where he disappeared to for a week. She was in the girls room doing her homework when he came in and she glared up at him and he said "Preslynn I.."
She gathered up her stuff and walked out he chased after her and he said "Darlin I can explain."
"No don't you don't have to explain to me that you went to go see her it's fine. I'll do this baby thing by myself I already broke up with Josh he yelled at me for cheating on him then my family yelled at me too. But you got to go see your girl right I"m sure you feel better." she said
"Preslynn will you shut up for 5 fucking minutes and let me explain something to you." he said
She looked down then he walked over to her and lifted her chin. "I didn't go see her to fuck her or anything like that. I went to see her to tell her in person that I wanted to break up with her that I cheated on her with someone else who I have fallen in love with. I felt like she deserved the truth in person Preslynn it took me 2 whole days to get her to answer the phone to figure out how to find her cause I didn't know where her dorm was. Once I got ahold of her I took her to dinner and told her the truth then I flew back then I stayed with my mom for the last two days because she was upset cause my dad got hurt and was on his way back home so I had to pick him up. Preslynn I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or make you think that I bolted cause I didn't I just wanted to do the right thing. I was with her for 3 years and I loved her she was my first for everything so I felt she deserved a in person break up." he said
She looked at him confused then said "You love me?'
"I do baby." he said as he cupped her cheeks and wiped tears then he kissed her she started to kiss back. He picked her up and whispered "baby we may need to calm down some since you are with my baby we can't be having rough sex like we do sometimes."
She giggled and said "Maybe."
"We can take a nap. But then we have to go somewhere." he said
"Where do we have to be boss." she said with a smile
He chuckled and said "Mama wants to meet you."
"Oh.. are you sure that's a good idea? Moms don't like me cause I have a smart mouth." she said
"Baby you forget who your boyfriend is. I have a smart mouth too she's use to it." he said as they lay down and got comfortable and took a nap.
