When both Bucky and Preslynn are struggling with their long distance relationships they start to spend more and more time together. But what happens when they share a accidental kiss?
The following week James came home and finally got to meet Preslynn in person and feel his grandson kick around in her belly. "Got us another football player on our hands." James said
Preslynn smiled and said "Yes we do."
They got to the house as it was Bucky and Preslynn who picked him up. "Dad please understand that mom isn't mom anymore." Bucky said
"Son I know." James said
They walked in and Becca said "Dad.."
He hugged Becca then said "Where's your mom?'
"She's in the living room." Becca said
He walked in and said "Winnie darlin."
She turned to look at him and said "James..where have you been? Have you been cheating on me all this time."
"No darlin I was on a deployment but I'm home now. I'm home for good I've been discharged." he said with a shaky voice.
"James you better not be lying to me. I won't have you sitting a bad example for our son did you know that at 15 he's having a baby with some girl see what all this is doing to our family." Winnie said
"Winnie honey James is not 15 he's 20." James said
"He is 15 years old and he's never here I don't know where he's staying at but clearly it's been with that girl." Winnie said
James swallowed hard then turned to his kids "Becca let her lay down."
Becca walked over to her mom and helped her upstairs then Winnie said "James if I have to I'll make you have a curfew and make you stay home."
Bucky looked down and wiped tears. James walked over to his son and hugged him. "I want you two to not come around as much do you understand. I'm home now James so your sister has help but right now your mom is confused and it's only going to get worse I talked to the doctor on my way to the plane son it's only going to hurt you more if you keep coming around." James said then he looked at Preslynn "You take care of my boys keep his mind off of this" as he looked at her then he said "Wait right here the both of you."
He ran upstairs then pulled Bucky aside and said "Her green eyes son I can see why you are so mesmerized but I have something that matches them."
He hands Bucky a green velvet ring box and opened it. "Dad that's grandma's ring." he said as he remembered seeing her wear it.
"I know and she left it in her will that it goes to you for when you get married." he said
Bucky closed it and smiled then whispered "Thank you grandma Margaret." then him and Preslynn left. Once they got back to campus he emailed her dad to see if he could set up a time to talk to him privately about something. Her dad emailed him back and said he was going to call his skype.
Bucky went out on the balcony of his suite with his headphones. "Hey James everything okay?" John said
"Yes sir I just um I was wondering if I had your blessing to marry your daughter." he said as he paced.
"James nothing in this world would make me more happier than you marrying my baby girl. All I ask is that you keep her happy and love her and be faithful to her." John said
"Yes sir I can do all that." he said
"Then yes you have my blessing James. And congrats I heard it's a boy and you chose to name him Carter James. I love it thank you so much for making her so happy I know how much she loved Josh but I knew my daughter couldn't be like her sisters or sister in law so thank you. I love you both and I'll see you soon." John said
"We love you too sir take care be safe as well." Bucky said
"I will talk to you soon." John said and ended the call.
Bucky left his room cause he knew she was taking a nap in her room he went out and ordered dinner from Applebee's then stopped and got her a dozen red roses and candles then let himself into her dorm. He fixed it all up for her then he woke her up and said "Baby I have a surprise for you come look."
She rubbed her eyes as she walked out of the bedroom and she said "baby what's this for."
"cause I love you and I have the best girlfriend in the world." he said
"Well I love you too but you didn't have to do this." she said as she sat down and they ate dinner.
Then he helped her up then said "Preslynn Rose you will never know how much I love you and how much you mean to me. I'm so glad that I met you cause I would still be stuck in a relationship that was struggling. I want love you kiss you sleep next to you wake up next to you for the rest of my life. Will you please marry me?" as he dropped one knee with the box open.

"Yes." She whispered with a shaky voice.
He slid it on to her finger then stood up. He kissed her and he whispered "This was my grandma's ring she left it to me. Dad said that it matches your eyes."
She giggled and said "It's gorgeous thank you."
"You are very welcome baby." he said then she took a picture of it and sent it out to her friends and family with the message "I said yes!" then both of their phones blew up with messages.
