After hearing a loud and alarming metallic noise, all the prison guards ran to find the origin of such a racket, but nobody reacted when arriving and seeing behind a pink cloud of dust, the gates of the prison on the ground, thus giving way to a prisoner who had already disappeared.
"Varian..." Stan whispered clenching his fists.
Everything was more difficult than Varian had thought. He had to run away from Corona as soon as possible, get more ingredients and tools for his experiments and try again; he could not give up.
For now, the most important thing was to go away. Varian knew that the captain of the guard would not rest until he found him so he could not afford to stay in Corona.
He watched the boats; it was his only means of transport. The ships that would travel before, would depart to two different destinations: Arendelle, bad choice, Rapunzel's cousins lived there, they've probably been contacted, and aware that Varian was a great danger to their realm; and the Kingdom of Paraiso another option, a kingdom a little distant in which they went to obtain cocoa since that kingdom was famous for its splendid chocolate. Yes, it could be a good option, at least temporarily, while finding a better place to renew his resources.
Sneaking into the boat was easy, and the trip lasted less than I expected, more or less a week.
The kingdom of Paraiso was large and very pompous. All the architecture was very elaborate, decorating every detail of every window or column. I did not know why, but I did not think that the kingdom would have what I needed.
He left the ship at night so that no one would see and suspect him and investigated the kingdom a little. He explored several streets and alleys for a while, and nothing seemed to help him, he needed a science college or something similar to get the ingredients he needed.
Varian snuggled up in an alley he needed to save his father, he had to do it, even if it was the last thing he did, he needed it.
The next day, he walked the streets away from the port (in case someone from Corona was still around) and asked some older women washing their clothes together if there was a science university in the area.
"You shouldn't concern yourself boy" - said one of them. – "How old are you? Eleven? Twelve?"
"Actually..." Varian started.
"I give this boy ten" - said the oldest.
That bothered Varian a little, but it was not the time to get fussy, now he had to find a university.
"Hey, is his question has to do with the sister of Princess Elena of Avalor going to the University of sciences at only eleven" reported another of the women.
Varian frowned in thought. Who was Princess Elena of Avalor? Would that kingdom be far? Could I easily steal some things?
"And how did she get into college at that age?" asked one of the women.
Varian listened carefully.
"She won the science contest" the curious one answered.
That girl is what Varian needed. He looked at his raccoon and whispered:
"We're going to Avalor."
