Chapter 19: Best Friends

"G-guys? Where are we?" Junior asked looking around.
The area they were in didn't seem familiar to any of the boys.
They were in some side of the town they have never been to before. There was a little area of grass and below the hill was a gas station.
"I don't know.." Cody replied looking at Junior. "It's actually pretty nice here" Junior said sitting on the grass.
"Yeah, but we should go back to Chef Pee Pee, uh he's probably looking for us" Joseph said
"I don't wanna go back" Jeffy said sitting across from Junior "because Bully Bill is there and don't want that mother fucker's dad to beat me up"
"He has point" Cody said sitting next to Junior
Joseph sighed and sat down with them.

The boys spent half and hour talking about random things.
Junior was laying on Cody's shoulder. He looked up "I'm hungry" he whined
"Me too" Jeffy replied "that pizza tasted like ass"
"There's a gas station right there" Joseph said pointing to the small building not to far from them.
"Does anyone have any money?" Cody asked.
"Oh I do!" Jeffy chimed pulling out a piece of paper from his pocket.
Cody sighed "Jeffy that's Monopoly money"
"No it isn't!" Jeffy scoffed "my daddy gave me this money because he's the tooth fairy and Easter bunny. You can't tell me otherwise bitch"
Cody put his hands up "ok, ok I was wrong"
"Dude, we can just shoplift" Joseph told Cody "I do it all the time"
"But how?" Cody asked.
"Someone just needs to distract the cashier and the other person walks out of the store" Joseph replied "its easy"
"What do you think Junior?" Cody asked
No answer. Junior was asleep.
"Ok Joseph you and Jeffy can go to the gas station and I'll stay here wi-" Cody was interrupted by Joseph
"No way dude! I can't go in there! I shoplift there all the time! They probably will remember me and arrest me or something!" Joseph replied "I'll stay here and watch Junior, you two can go"
Cody was about to protest but again was interrupted
"Come on Cody! Please!" Jeffy said. Cody sighed
"Ok Jeffy, you make the distraction and I'll get the food, ok?"
"Ok Cody!" Jeffy said as they walked to the gas station.

Junior slowly opened his eyes adjusting them to the light.
He looked up. "Cody?"
"No dude, it's Joseph" Joseph said. "Cody and Jeffy went to get snacks"
Junior looked at Joseph.
"How do you wear that sweatshirt all the time?" Junior asked "it's really hot here in Florida"
"Oh.." Joseph replied looking down at his sleeves "I usually just roll up my sleeves"
"You look like your sweating" Junior said looking concerned "here I can help you roll your sle-"
"No Junior I'm fine" Joseph said but Junior shook his head
"Is there something wrong Joseph?" Junior asked "why don't you want me to see your arms?"
"It's nothing" Joseph mumbled "nothings wrong.."
"Then let me see your arms!" Junior said
"Fine!" Joseph snapped rolling up his sleeves "Happy now?!"
Junior's eyes widened.
Joseph's arms had....
Cuts.

"J-Joseph.." Junior stuttered "y-you... why w-would you do that t-to yourself!?"
"W-Well..." Joseph started "you've j-just been... spending a l-lot of time w-with Cody lately.. and I j-just thought.."
"No Joseph!" Junior said "it's not like that!"
Junior grabbed Joseph's hands "You're my best friend Joseph. I'm sorry I haven't been spending much time with you.. I've just been.. broken.. well, ever Chompy... died.."
"Y-yeah I understand.." Joseph said and smiled at Junior
"Promise me you won't ever hurt yourself again" Junior asked
"I promise" Joseph said.
They heard a flash. They both looked around
"Must be Jeffy and Cody" Joseph said.

"No! You listen here God dammit!" Jeffy said at the cashier.
"You take this money and have a good day!" Jeffy said pointing to the Monopoly money.
"But sir that's not rea-" the cashier started
"Listen here" Jeffy says grabbing the cashier by the caller of his shirt.
Meanwhile Cody grabbed a bottle of water and a few candy bars and slowly walked out the door.
Jeffy placed the board game money in the cashier's hand "Now put it in the cash register and have a good day" Jeffy said walking out.

"That was a good distraction" Cody said to Jeffy as they were walking back.
"Thanks Cody" Jeffy said "But I have a question"
"What is it?" Cody asked.
"What's a distraction?"
