Sam
CJ left the room so fast I hardly realized that he was missing. I noticed that Gabi looked a little upset that he was gone. They seemed to be having a good conversation this time around. Although the easiest way to CJ's heart is through books or anything related to them.
I stood up from my spot and sat down next to her. "I told you he wasn't horrible," I said, and she smiled. I knew eventually CJ would get his head out of his ass.
"I feel horrible enough about it okay," she laughed, and Kaleb turned his chair around to join us.
"He broke up with Meghan," he said, and Gabi's eyes widened.
"Oh." Was all that she could say.
Kaleb and I were happy that she was out of his life, but this was one of the worst ways it could've happened.
"I hate that she hurt him," I said. "I didn't think that even she would stoop that low."
"Why did I have to be the one to find out? I feel so bad about it," Gabi said and put her chin in her hands.
It probably would've been better if the story came straight from Kaleb or I, but I didn't see that happening. No one caught them for months, and Cody lives with CJ.
"Well if you didn't find out he'd be with her forever. Never knowing about it. So if you ask me you kinda did him a huge favor," Kaleb shrugged his shoulders. "Now he can be with someone who isn't an asshole."
The bell rang and we all made our way out of the classroom. CJ and Claire were just coming out of the bathroom. He looked over at us and continued on his way towards the office. "What do you think happened?" Gabi asked.
I was guessing that whatever the problem is Matt was the reason it happened. "Matt, probably," Kaleb said, and that's when I spotted Matt walking dangerously close to CJ.
"Please walk away," I sighed just as CJ's eyes landed on him. His facial expression changed from loving brother to I want to kill you. He started to move away from Claire, but she stopped him. Thank God. He did not need another fight today.
"Who's Matt?" Gabi asked.
"Claire's boyfriend. Also, he's mine and CJ's old friend. He was a douche. Then Kaleb replaced him," I answered. Kaleb laughed and shook his head. Knowing that Matt was gone long before Kaleb moved here.
"How old is Claire?"
"15. I'd be pissed if my sister was dating someone that much older than her at that age," Kaleb said. Which I agreed on, Claire was so much younger than Matt was, and she doesn't need someone like him in her life. "Anyways I'll catch you guys later." He kissed my cheek and took off for his next class.
"Don't think about CJ too much. Meghan's a mind reader," I said and pointed to Gabi's head. "She gets right in there."
"Whatever," she said with a laugh and walked away.

I didn't see CJ again until 4th period. "How's Claire?" I asked, and he shrugged. "How are you?" Another shrug. "CJ, talk to me please. If not about you, anything. I'm worried about you."
"What is there to talk about? Meghan's gone, Cody is a fucking prick, my moms back. I don't know what to talk about anymore," he said.
Luckily we were in study hall, and the teacher and I got along. "Mr. Stiller can CJ and I work out in the hall? We have a project," I said, and he granted us permission to leave.
We sat down and CJ rested his head against the wall. "No one is here. Just talk to me," I said, and he rubbed his eyes.
"I don't know what you want me to say Sam. There's absolutely nothing I can do to fix what's going on."
