Chapter 5

Justin's POV:

I pulled her to her feet and we raced down the dock and to the beach, both completely barefoot. I was much stronger, but she was fast. In the end, I let her win, because for some reason, her smile ignited mine.

She was too far away for my liking, so I jokingly hopped onto her back and jumped right off, feeling like a little kid. Olivia laughed, showing her perfect teeth, and I laughed along with her. I grabbed her hand and she looked a bit confused, but didn't pull her hand away.

The sunset was lovely, but too soon it was dark. I didn't care, I pulled off my t-shirt and laid it on the ground for us to sit on. She smiled brightly at my small act of chivalry and sat. I held her closer and we watched the ocean waves. The beach was deserted by now, but I felt nice with her by my side.

I was just so damn confused, though!

A few days ago, I was moping around, wishing for Selena to come back. Now, all of a sudden, I am fake-dating literally the most beautiful girl in the world! I liked Olivia, but sometimes I wondered if I liked her because she was absolutely gorgeous or because there was really something there.  I hid my face in my hands and Olivia squeezed my shoulder.

"Hey, are you okay, J?"  Liv asked, concern dotting her voice.

"Just confused is all,"  I looked up and saw that her lovely face was just inches from mine.  Those emerald green eyes were looking into mine with such concern, like she actually cared.  I wanted to kiss her like I had earlier in the day, but that damn photographer had to ruin everything!  Sometimes, I wished that people actually cared about my privacy.

"I don't believe you,"  she stated.  I brushed a piece of hair out of her face.

"Why?"  was all I could manage to get out.

"Because... You look hurt.  And I guess a little confused as well,"  she said to me, curiosity creeping into her tone.

"I... I'm just confused,"  I said again.  She was so close to me...

"Want to talk about it?"  Liv asked calmly.  I wondered if she felt as nervous this close to me as I did with her.

"Yes... but... no..."  I sighed, frustrated with myself.

"I understand,"  she nodded a little and moved so she wasn't so close to me anymore.

That snapped me out of my own inner turmoil.  I didn't want her farther away from me!  I wanted to get to know her, I wanted her to trust me, maybe someday I wanted to turn this fake relationship into a reality!  With that thought, I pulled her closer to my topless torso and layed down with her head resting on my chest.  Perfect.

"Justin...?"  She said quietly.

"Yes?"

"I have a question,"  she said hesitantly and propped herself up with her elbows on my chest.

"What's that?"  I smiled, encouraging her.

"Well... is this all just an act to you?"  she bit her bottom lip and avoided looking into my eyes.

I couldn't speak.  Instead, I leaned in and kissed her lips, softly at first.  Her green eyes widened at first, but she slowly slid them shut and slid her arms around my neck.  I liked the feeling of her soft lips on mine, and her hands on either side of my neck.  She pulled away, but I didn't let her get too far, placing my forehead onto hers.

"What kind of answer was that?"  she teased.

"A confusing one?"  I teased back, but then became serious, "It was an act at first... But I think that I might really be falling for you." I whispered into her ear, and I could feel the shivers run down her spine.

"Might be?" she teased, and she was so close to me that I could feel her eyelashes brush against my cheekbone.

"You know how it is,"  I winked, gaining my confidence.

"Two can play that game,"  Liv smirked and leaned in closer, her lips just brushing past mine, then she pulled away and jumped up quick as a whip.  I fell over from leaning too far.

"Damn.  You're quick!"  I laughed.

"Of course I am!  I train for things like this, Bieber!  Catch me if you can!"  she laughed and ran back in the direction of the bungalow.  I ran as fast as I could and caught up with her, pinning her to the sand.

"Gotcha,"  I smiled and leaned in to give her a kiss.

Liv smiled and pushed me off, "If I had been trying, you wouldn't have caught up."

"Whatever," I winked and gave her a piggyback ride back up to the bungalow.

***

The next morning, we woke up cuddling on the couch.  I flipped on the TV and ran my fingers through Liv's hair as I waited for it to turn on properly.  When I saw what was on, I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Turn it up!"  Liv said, panicked, as she saw a picture of her and I cuddling on the beach pop up on the TV screen.

"Pop sensation Justin Bieber has been spotted with this mystery blonde girl several times over the past couple of weeks.  At first, it looked like they could've just been friends, but from the looks of these pictures that claim to have been from last night on a beach, the Biebs is getting quite cozy with the mystery blonde.  Some are starting to say that it's Taylor Swift, but others think that it is the new girl on the Pop music scene, Olivia Charlotte!  Is this girl even famous, though?  We haven't gotten very good facial shots of her yet, but we'll share with you all as soon as we do!  Enjoy these pictures and give us some feedback on who YOU think she is!" the annoying woman finished and some pictures of Liv and I appeared on the screen.  Liv and I boating, Liv and I holding hands, Liv and I running through the sand, Liv and I kissing, Liv and I laying in the sand after I had tackled her, Liv on my back while I gave her a piggyback ride.  Who the hell spent their free time stalking us!? God damn.  I shut the TV off and Liv gave me a concerned look.

"That gets annoying very quickly,"  she sighed and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Yes, it gets very old.  Whatever.  They can't ruin our day.  Now get dressed, I'm taking you out."
