A favour.

The day finally ended, and it was time for Hank and Connor to head home. Miller and Tina locked the captured android in a room when they returned with her unconscious body. The day was quiet, and filled with paperwork, not for Connor though.

"I forgot to say congratulations on catching the android, all in a day and with Gavin" Hank said, giving Connor a good pat on the back while he was driving.

"Thank you Hank" Connor smiled. It was a bit forced, because he didn't necessarily like it when Gavin was talked down upon. He was a good at what he does. Sure, Connor could technically do better according to society because he was an android, but Gavin worked surprisingly faster than Connor did when finding the culprit. However, it wasn't up to him on other peoples opinion on Gavin.

The ride home was quick and quiet. Hank made a quick stop, getting some dog treats for Sumo. They got home and were greeted by Sumos bark. He was taking up the whole sofa, before he got off to bump his head into Hank.

"Have you been a good boy Sumo? Stopped people from robbing the place?" Sumo barked in response to Hank. "That's my good boy."

Connor smiled and began rubbing Sumos head, before going to the kitchen to make dinner for Hank. Though Hank would often insist that Connor doesn't bother, it would always fall deaf on Connors ears. With the couple of ingredients Connor could find, he made a small dish of Kraft Dinner topped with pepper and 3 mozzarella sticks.

The rest of the night was short. Hank ate his food in silence before taking a shower and heading to bed. Connor would go into his room and lay down in his bed, though he couldn't sleep he still liked the idea of it.

Gavin was at home making himself a grilled cheese sandwich, and ate in silence with his cat Ginger next to him. He didn't want to watch anything, since he's been on the TV all day and also wanted to have some time to think.

The fact Connor wanted to make amends with him, made Gavin scared. What if Connor was just trying to get his guard down? Since when was he so interesting to that plastic fucker?

"I really need to stop thinking about him, right Ginger?" All he got in response was his cat flopping on his back revealing his belly. Of course Gavin reached down and began scratching. Gingers purrs motored through the entire house. Gavin laughed, and placed his sandwich down on his table and used both of his hands to pet his cat.

However, his little moment of happiness was interrupted by an incoming call from his phone. Groaning in displeasure, Gavin got up from his couch and looked at his phone. After another groan of even more displeasure, he answered the call from 'Elijah Kamski.'

"What do you want asshole?"

"Ah Gavin, I simply wanted to congratulate you on-"

"Congratulate, my ass Elijah! I've told you to stop calling me."

"Then why did you answer the phone in the first place brother?" Elijah asked, his voice smooth as silk and calmer than a morning breeze. How was he always so calm in every situation? "You know I am always going to be here for you. Maybe it's time to leave the past behind and time for us to be-"

"No!" Gavin yelled into his phone, shushing Elijah up. While Gavin was calming himself down, Elijah remained silent, waiting for Gavin to speak. "I'm sorry, it's been a long day."

After a moment of silence, elijah responded. "I'm sure it has."

"Now what's the real reason you called?" Gavin heard Elijah chuckle on the other end of the phone.

"Ah yes, the actual reason I called" Elijah said. "I need a favor, and this time it should be something you can handle."

Something was up.

"What kind of favour?"

Elijah went silent for what felt like a minute.

"I need you to come over tomorrow, preferably before 7:20." Gavin could hear the change of tone from vague and teasing to stern and serious. It's been almost 13 years since he's heard that tone come from Elijah. He remained silent before looking at the photo of him and Elijah. Feeling a faint yet sad smile twitch at his lips, and taking a deep breathe to calm his systems down completely, he responded.

"I should make it there by 6:35 as long as the interrogation doesn't go too out of hand with Connor."

"I see your finally treating androids like a living being, rather than machines" Elijah noted. Gavin brought his hand up to pinch his nose.

"Yeah whatever, I'll be at your place tomorrow Elijah."

"Good luck on your interrogation."

With that, Gavin hung up and rolled his eyes. He took his dirty plate and rinsed it off before placing it in the dishwasher. He did like to keep his house decently clean so he didn't feel like a pig in a pigsty, though he never really brought anybody home, at least not to bring them to the bedroom.

"What are you looking at Ginger?" he noticed his cat staring at him before coming over to him, rubbing against his legs. Sighing and kneeling down, he scratched Ginger at the base of his tail making it curl and him purr. Then he plopped on his back revealing his belly again. "All you want is attention don't you?"

That still didn't stop Gavin from going in with both hands, giving his cat all the attention he could handle and deserved. Gavin would never show this side of himself to anyone, not even his family. If he did, he would probably die of embarrassment.

When the clock hit 9:14, Gavin took that as his hint to go shower and head to sleep. He got a towel from the hall closet, and headed to the bathroom. Gavin took off his clothes and dumped them into his clothing hamper. Turning on the shower and stepping in, getting all the grub off his body felt like heaven to him. However, in the shower his mind would wander. Sometimes to places he would rather not think of. This is one of those times.
