Case relaxed against his bed as he pulled on one of her toes. She kicked at him in her sleep. Case knew he should leave her alone after the episode last night, but he was still irritated that shed woken him up the way she did. Now it was payback.

"Kota. Im hot."

"Its January"

"Bae, Im hungry."

"Kick rocks, Casey."

"Get up and fix me something to eat."

He tried not to laugh as she groaned in annoyance, pushing the cover off. He had to move back because she'd almost kicked him in his face. Kota sat up and frowned.

"Why are you at the end of the bed?"

"Felt like it."

She frowned harder before getting up and stalking off to their bathroom.

Case and Kota had gotten an apartment together five months ago. It was probably about four months after he'd visited Lacey after her surgery.

He hadnt known what he expected when visiting her, but he really wasnt prepared for her to tell him to stay with Kota.

Case had no intentions of leaving Kota, but as soon as he was in Laceys presence, all he wanted to do was stay in it. When she questioned him about his relationship, he was sure she would express some residual feelings. When she didnt, it hurt.

So, when he got back to school, Kota became his main focus. Her insecurities and past issues hadnt stopped and Case was still dealing with her clinginess at times. It was what had woke him up in the middle of the night.

Coaxing her through an episode was never easy, he could only thank God they were few and far in between.

"All you're getting is an omelet," Kota mumbled, walking back past him towards the kitchen. Case shrugged and lay back on the bed to relax.

Things with his mom had gotten a little better. Over the last break, he actually stayed home. It was good, being able to catch up with her and he even got to chill with Keyta. She cussed him out about not keeping in touch with her. He was even upset to find out she was expecting a little girl and hadnt called him. She said it was punishment for not keeping in touch but Case would be her God dad. They'd always be best friends.

Kota had tripped about how much time he spent with Keyta. She had family in Gary so she'd been to visit with Case. His mom was disinterested in her but thats how she was with all his past girlfriends.

Kota took it as his mom not liking her and that was all she needed to start up the insecurities, since Cases mom was okay with Keyta.

It was nearing the end of their junior year and they planned on spending at least two weeks in Michigan City and hopefully in Dallas with Kota's dad and brother. They were pretty solid together, despite all.

Case smiled when the aroma of food hit his nose.

"Im done!" Kota yelled from the kitchen. Case jumped out of the bed, slid on a pair of basketball shorts and shuffled into the kitchen to eat.

"You're cute."

Lacey looked up from her desk and frowned. Her hair fell down into her face and she groaned, almost forgetting that shed flat ironed it the night before. The guy she looked up at was tall. He almost blocked the light. He was a shade lighter than her with a narrow face but his smile was gorgeous. His goatee was clean and his lips were full.
