Grumbo Oneshots

Prank Gone Wrong

Grian was trying a small prank on Mumbo involving redstone and TNT. One of his favorite, possibly his favorite, block(s) in Minecraft. Redstone, on the other hand, was something he just couldn't wrap his head around. Just a disaster waiting to happen.

"Just put this bit here," Grian quietly spoke to himself, making sure the TNT was far enough away to not cause any damage to Mumbo of any of his builds, but close enough to scare the living daylights out of him.

Grian heard footsteps approaching his and quickly ran into one of the many buildings surrounding Mumbo's base. Once he settled down inside, he peaked out the window to see Mumbo with a confused expression on his face, examining what was exposed of the small redstone contraption.

"What is this?" Mumbo asked himself, circling what looked to be a set up for a trap. Grian was happy he hadn't placed down the TNT block or the button since he still needed to do some adjustments. Mumbo kept walking around the redstone until he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

Grian went back and fixed the problems he found, placed the TNT, and placed the button. He also placed down a sign that read 'Press for a little surprise ;-)'. Grian knew Mumbo's curiosity would push him to press the button and his reaction would make for some entertainment.

Grian leaned on his newly built machine and wiped the sweat off of his brow. "This is going to get him so good," Grian giggled to himself, thinking about Mumbo's possible reactions.

"Boo!" Grian heard who he thinks is Mumbo yell behind him. Grian was, of course, scared and accidentally pressed the button, which scared him even more. He didn't know if the redstone was going to work or if the TNT was too close to them.

"Ahh-!" Grian yelled out, starting to panic for their safety.

"Dude, I didn't even scare you that much, did I?" Mumbo asked, confused as to why Grian was still looking scared.

"It's not that, i-" Grian was cut off by the TNT explosion that was a little to close for comfort.

Mumbo was startled and yelped out in surprise. "What was that?"

"Umm..." Grian started, nervoulsy.

"Well...?"

"It was supposed to be a prank..."

"A prank?"

"Yes.."

"For what?" Mumbo asked him.

"I don't know, I was bored and wanted to do something fun."

"Yeah, your facial expression definitely showed how much fun you were having while the TNT exploded."

"...Shut up, I hate you," Grian said with a fake angry tone.

"Love you too!" Mumbo chirped, before blushing. Did he actually mean that, or did he mean it in a joking way?

"What was that, Mumbo?" Grian asked with an innocent tone of voice.

"Nothing!" Mumbo tried to cover up.

"It didn't sound like 'nothing' to me." Grian joked, trying to get Mumbo to admit what he had said earlier.

"Fine, I-" Mumbo started.

"Love you, too," Grian finished for him.
