Grumbo Oneshots

Nevermore

There's a song up here ^ and listen to it during the chapter when I give you the cue. And you might hate me because of what is going to happen in this chapter, but I feel like I wanted to write something dramatic. Anyways, the song is 'Nevermore' by Queen, in case you wanted to know the name. And Evil Xisuma is in this one kind of, so you guys probably know the direction that this will head in. Also, this chapter is terrible because I'm bad at writing.

Mumbo arranged to meet up with Grian, but he was nervous. He was going to have to do something that he never thought he would do and would break both him and Grian. He had to break up with him. He didn't want to, of course he didn't, but he was being blackmailed. By Evil X.

Earlier, Mumbo received a letter from Evil X that said 'I don't like you or Grian, break up with him or else I'll do something to him myself. I want to see you suffer. ~EX'. He knew Evil X wasn't one to joke around, so Grian was in danger.

"Hey Mumbo!" Grian said and walked over to hug Mumbo as soon as he landed. His small arms wrapped themselves around Mumbo and his heart broke. 'I don't want to do this, but I have to. For Grian,' he thought as he gulped.

"Grian," he whispered as he removed Grian's arms from his body and stepped away from him.

"What's wrong?" Grian asked as he frowned slightly.

Mumbo breathed in and prepared himself. "I want to break up."

Grian looked up at Mumbo. "What...?"

Mumbo looked down. "I don't love you anymore, I don't think I ever did," he lied. 'Remember, this is to keep him safe. Make him believe you so it wouldn't be hard, don't let him see how you feel because he'll know you're lying.'

"What do you mean?" Grian asked. 'Do something! Make him cry so he'll never want to be with you. Break his heart,' Mumbo's conscience told him.

"I said I don't love you," he said and heard a sob come from Grian and that almost made Mumbo cry and try to take it back. Almost. 'Remember why you're doing this, this is to help him.' Mumbo felt Grian push past him and he flew off. Mumbo just stood there and soon, he was crying too.

"This is for him, to keep him safe," he whispered. Yes, Mumbo kept Grian safe physically, but emotionally, he broke him and their relationship was gone. And Grian's love for Mumbo probably was, too.

Mumbo flew to his base and was tempted to check on Grian, just to make sure he was okay, but he ignored the thought and flew straight to his. He got into bed and thought about Grian the whole night, even in his dreams.

Mumbo awoke in tears, thinking about Grian. He got up and saw that his beacon was green. "Grian wouldn't send something, would he...?" he asked himself as he walked over to the mail room. He picked up a book. 'Good job at following your orders. I can't wait for you to see how much you hurt Grian, he cried himself to sleep. ~EX.'

Mumbo shook his head and walked away. 'He's trying to get me to regret it. He wants me to put Grian in danger and I have to ignore it,' he thought as he walked to his storage system. He wanted to do some redstone to get his mind off of Grian.

~Time Skip~

Throughout the day, Mumbo tried to get his mind off of Grian and what he did to him. What they no longer were. But Mumbo felt guilt. "I have to check on him at least," he said as he set down his redstone and took out his rockets, flying to Grian's base to make sure he was okay.

As soon as Mumbo landed, he heard Music and saw Grian on the floor, hugging his knees to his chest (Cue the music).

"Grian?" Mumbo asked and saw Grian get up.

"Mumbo? What are you doing here?" he asked, trying to wipe his tears away.

"I- I didn't want to do it. I regret it, but it's too late now. It's too late to take it back. I did this to you. I hurt you." he said, looking down.

"Why, though? Why did you do it?" Grian asked him.

"I'm scared."

"Scared of what?"

Mumbo stayed silent, not answering his question. "Scared of what, Mumbo?"

"Of Evil X. He... he said that if I didn't break up with you, he'd do something to you himself," he answered.

"Don't worry, we can fight him together," Grian said as he took Mumbo's hands in his own. "Don't only worry about me, but about us."

Mumbo pulled Grian in for a hug. "I missed you so much," he whispered. "I didn't want to do it, but I didn't want anything to happen to you. I thought that you hating me would be easier to deal with than something happening to you, but it probably hurts equally. I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

I warned y'all, this chapter wasn't as good as I thought it would be, since I worked on it for about 2 hours and I'm tired. This chapter was bad, but the idea I had for it was good. I just didn't know how to write it, this is probably the worst thing I've written in this book. Also, do any of y'all know the band Queen? No? Okay. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Anyways, bye!
