A Fresh Start

Everyone was fighting each other. There was gunfire that echoed. I saw Night Wave get knocked onto the ground. The guy that did that to her also pointed his gun at her. I ran in there and tackled the guy to the ground and started punching him. Soon all the bad guys were down. Except one. The one that hid in one of the cars. Heavy Step pulled him out. Armed Knuckles was about to hit him and knock him out.

"WAIT I NEED HIM, I have questions." I shouted to him.

"Do you even know who your messing with." The guy asked.

"No but do you want to explain." I answered.

"My name is Simon Chester which makes my dad Frank Chester. He is the biggest gangster right now. Even has most of the police under his control. This was his drug deal so he is the one that lost a lot of money. So if I was you I'd run and hide somewhere far away because he'll want his money back. If not the money then the people responsible for loosing it." Simon said.

"We don't run and we definitely don't hide. Everyone lets burn all this shit. Heavy Step do you want to take care of this guy." I said to everyone.

"Sure thing boss." Heavy Step replied while walking towards Simon. He lifted his foot up and kicked Simon, knocking Simon out. I noticed something that might be a problem later on. As soon as Heavy Step called me boss Night Wave gave me a look. She was jealous. I can't tell if she'll act on that jealousy or just accept it. I'll find out eventually. She wants to be the leader but she isn't ready yet. There is something about her I really like though I just don't know what it is.

"Ok I think all the drugs are burnt to ash but what about the money." Armed Knuckles asked.

"Keep it. We'll probably need it later on." I answered. At that moment my phone started ringing. I chose to ignore it at first but then after it stopped I got a text. It was Wade. It's been a while since I talked to him. Ever since the attack on the school, he had the same opinion as Kasey. In the text he said that I need to meet up with him and that it's important.

"Hey guys sorry to ruin this but I have to go. It's important." I said to the group.

"Don't worry about it. It was great working with the original superhero." Heavy Step said.

"Bullshit." Night Wave said under her breathe to herself. We all heard it though. I think she secretly wanted everyone to hear. As I started walking away I walked passed Armed Knuckles. He raised his hand ready for a high five. So I gave him one. Next was Silence he didn't say anything but his look said enough. We slightly nodded at each other and then went our separate ways.

While I was walking to the spot that Wade told me to go I had a strange feeling. A feeling like I was being followed. Who would Follow me though and why. I sneaked around corner and waited for this person to come past. Nobody else was out on the streets at this time of night. As soon as this person walked around I grabbed them and pushed them to a wall. The street light was right on their face. It was Night Wave the whole time.

"Why are you following me." I asked.

"Because I don't trust you not one bit and you randomly leaving seemed sketchy." She answered.

"So you thought that you could sneak around me and see what I was up to. Bad plan because I caught you and if I wanted to I could kill you." I explained.

"We both know you won't do anything like that." She said.

"Why's that." I questioned.

"Oh come on I'm not the only one that feels this. There is a connection between us and we both know it. You're just too busy hiding it." She said to me knowing it was all true. Then she leaned in to kiss and I kissed her back. While I was kissing her my mind went straight to Kasey. I still had feelings for her even after all this time. I stopped kissing Night Wave and moved away from her.

"I'm sorry I can't.... not yet anyway." I said while running off. This all felt too rushed I need to slow down.

"Hey I still don't know your name." Night Wave asked.

"Evan." I answered.

"Roxanne." She replied.

I had so many questions. Why couldn't I get over Kasey. Is Roxanne even right for me. What am I supposed to do about all this. There was something about Kasey that still makes me love her till this day. I can't even be mad at her anymore. Roxanne seems to understand this life better and what it takes for it. That was something Kasey didn't understand. As much as I want to go back to Kasey I know it'll never work something bad will happen again. It's hard to not think about her though. I wake up she is the first thing I think of. Before I go to sleep she is the last thing I think of. All my dreams are about her too. I literally can't stop thinking about her. So maybe I should at least try to give Roxanne a shot and focus on her instead of Kasey. Also I bet Kasey has moved on and doesn't love me anymore. So why can't I do the same. A fresh Start. That's what I need so know I will try not to think of Kasey.

Later on I met up with Wade. Ryan was there too.

"I thought both of you didn't want anything to do with me." I said.

"Well Ryan here wants to be a superhero like you. I want to help so none of you end up dead." Wade explained.

"WHAT! NO THATS NOT HAPPENING." I yelled at Ryan.

"Why not? What's the difference between you doing this and me doing it." Ryan asked trying to stay as calm as possible.

"Because I have a lot more training and experience. Also last time I checked I still got powers from this suit. So end of conversation. Both of you go home." I said to them as I walked off. I couldn't let them help. Not if they are in danger and I can see them get hurt or worse. So I'm not letting them do this. I'm trying to protect them. Even if they don't see it like that.
