New Rules

I walked home that night thinking. Is it really fair that I'm joining this group but not letting Ryan do this. Either way I don't want him out there. He's too personal to me so I can't work with him. If he does join then I'd be more focused on keeping him safe. I can't afford to get distracted like that. The other side to it is that this life is too dangerous to be working on your own even for me. Wade doesn't really count as working with someone because he stays out of things. So I've decided that Ryan is not going to be doing any of this.

The next night I showed up at the meeting place the team organised. Silence was the first person there and I was second. This gave me a chance to talk to him without the others around listening.

"I don't know if you agree or not but this group needs training." I said

"Mm." He replied with a little nod.

"They are going to end up killing someone and nobody wants that. I know I've killed myself but I want to move away from that. Start doing things differently. So I'm going to train everyone and convince them not to kill. Also hoping you can help. You already know how to fight. You didn't kill anyone either but you could've very easily. Meaning you probably agree on not killing. I'm thinking you should take Heavy Step and Armed Knuckles. Night Wave is mine to deal with." I explained.

At that moment the rest of the team showed up.

"What are you two talking about." Night Wave asked.

"Our new rule...We are not going to kill anyone. You all need to learn how to really fight though." I said to the team. Heavy Step and Armed Knuckles seemed to understand.

"NO KILLING AH WHAT DO YOU MEAN. THESE CRIMINALS DESERVE IT FOR WHATEVER THEY DID!!!" Night Wave shouted at me and Silence.

"What these criminals deserve is a fair chance. To be given the right punishment by the law. Our job isn't to make our own choice on their punishments, our job is to capture them so the right people can do it properly." I said in a calming tone. I didn't want this situation getting out of hand. Night Wave crossed her arms she knew she lost this argument for now.

"Ok so we are going to be doing some training. Since me and Silence are already trained to fight we will both be training you guys. Heavy Step and Armed Knuckles can go with Silence." I ordered.

"Oh great I get to be stuck with you." Night Wave said while rolling her eyes.

"Yep so now lets all go on patrol." I said."

"So while we are walking around here maybe we could um get to know each other a bit more." I said hoping she'd be friendly towards me.

"What do you want to know." She asked.

"Why did you kiss me the other night. Like we barely know eachother." I asked.

"Just felt like it I guess. It's not everyday you get to kiss the first ever superhero." She said in a flirty way.

"That's not what you said last night." I said to her.

"Oh didn't I." she said again in that flirty way.

"OK let's talk about why you decided to fight crime like this." I asked.

"There's nothing about it I just do it because these guys deserve it." She explained. I knew she was hiding a past that she didn't want to talk about.

"We both know that's bullshit. I know more then you think. I know that you have a past where something happened. If I had to guess I'd say a family member or friend of yours got hurt. That'd explain or your anger issues." I explained. Right after I said she had anger issues I knew I messed up.

"Wow ok one thing about me I don't have fucking anger issues so don't start that shit. Also your not the only one that can learn about a person. I know that ever since you saw me you've wanted to kiss me. You won't because you have something holding you back and that'd probably be a failed relationship from the past. Your just a big cry baby crying about a girl he didn't get. So I made the first move." She snapped at me. I grabbed her and pushed her against a wall.

"Don't talk to me like that." I scolded. She then grabbed me and flipped me around onto the wall.

"See it's not that nice." She said proudly. She had me pinned against the wall and kissed me. It wasn't like Kasey's kiss this had more passion to it. This was a lot better than Kasey.

"Oooo what do we have here a few costumed freaks making out." A voice said from a distance but walking closer.

"Wait that's the Bird." Another worryingly said.

"Let's see if he is as badass as everyone is saying. Money, phones, anything valuable hand it over now." A third guy ordered. I don't take orders too well and neither does Night Wave.

"I'm going to give you one chance and one chance only to walk away." I tried to convince them. I didn't really think it'd work though.

"Ha ha nice try but I think we'd rather steal your shit." The first guy said. He suddenly pulled out a gun and pointed it at me. The third guy pulled a gun out too and pointed it at Night Wave.

"Oh you guys fucked up now" I said with a massive smirk. Night Wave started punching one guy and I took the other two. They were easy to take down. These guys were just some inexperienced loser's. Few hits and a kick was all I needed. I then looked at Night Wave who obviously had tackled the other guy since she was on top of him continually punching him in the face. He was already unconscious but that didn't stop her.

"Hey you can stop now....Night Wave." I said trying to get her attention but it was working. I ran up to her and grabbed her pulling her away.

"No anger issues ha." I jokingly said. She then rolled her eyes then my phone starts ringing. Must be Wade or Ryan again. I answered my phone.

"Evan I we need your help Ryan is in trouble I'll text you the address please hurry." Wade said and before I could answer he hung up.

"Look I'm sorry but I have to go sort something out." I explained to Night Wave.

"You do know that this is one of the reasons I don't trust you. The whole leaving us for a mysterious reason. That I know you will hide from me. So anyway have fun doing whatever and I'll see you some other time." She said while walking off.

"Hey wait I didn't get your name, I mean like your real name." I asked.

"It's Roxanne like I said last night. It hasn't changed since then." She answered.

"What about last name." I asked again. I was really interested in her so I wanted to know.

"Well Bird you have your secrets I have mine." She yelled.

"By the way my name's Evan Rogers if you were wondering." I said. She then walked off and waved to me.
