Susie closed the golden door behind her, running through the field with only one objective.

She slowed her pace, her stomach growling. Maybe two objectives now.

Seam 'Seap' stood ahead of her, light glowing gently from the doorway to illuminate the path. She huffed, walking up the path and inside.
A jingle belled to signal someone walked in.
The stuffed cat looked up from the book he had been engulfed in, smiling his iconic smile at her.
"Well if it isn't one of the heroes again. Heh... what brings you back to my shop?" he spoke in a raspy voice. "Guess you could say I'm here for the nostalgia" she laughed lowly to herself. "In that case..."

"Welcome back, traveler. Take your time... Ain't like it's better spent.". The cat loomed over her with his large button eye. Intimidating, yet still somehow welcoming.

"I need some food for my trip," Susie exhaled, putting forty dark dollars onto the counter. Seam slid her a few Dark Candy in a tiny gift bag in exchange. She nodded, leaving just as quickly as she arrived.

"See you again... Or not. Ha ha ha ha..." she heard the old cat chuckle to himself.

Susie headed out again with her candy bag. She noticed up ahead the gate was locked where the puzzle had been reset. She simply moved the boxes back onto the plates, remembering how Kris did it before.
She also remembered the things she said to him.
She bit the inside of her cheek, feeling regretful of her previous actions towards him. Kris didn't deserve to be treated like that, and neither did Ralsei.
She watched as the gate opened, walking past it she looked down at her bag of candy.

Hope he hasn't wandered too far...

She hung a right, towards the checkered floor. It flashed white in sync, lighting up each section of the floor at a time to give enough space to jump across the darker parts. Susie carefully walked through, narrowly avoiding the illuminated tiles. A few Ponman could be seen quietly watching the purple Lightener make her way through the Great Board, though they didn't come near her in fear she would bash their heads off.

In which case, she would. But only if they messed with her.

Susie sighed in relief as her feet touched the grass again.

Though her relief didn't last long as something rolled up behind her.
She turned around, thinking she was about to see a large hostile enemy--

-its just a c. round.

She blinked, looking down at the small checker piece as it looked right back at her with no fear.
Susie huffed, stepping backward. "Shoo. Go away. I'm busy.".
The C. Round continued to stare up at her with its little flat face.
Then, as if someone dropped it from above, a crown out of nowhere fell and landed onto its head.
"--??" Susie squinted into the dark sky, wondering who might've dropped the crown.
Nothing but the sky and the trees hung above them.
She looked back down in time to see the checker piece start to grow.

Suddenly, the checker became King Round!
With sexy legs!!!

Susie stumbled back, not having her ax to attack with.

*Here it comes!

She remembered what Ralsei and Kris did last time in battle and how they submit by bowing to it. Susie groaned, not wanting to show any submission to the K. Round. Before she could finish protesting to herself, the long-legged checker piece stomped its way towards her.
If only Ralsei was with her. She could throw him at it again.
That was kinda fun.
She dodged swiftly as the K. Round threw its leg up, firing stars at her like blades.
Susie tried attacking, kicking the checker in the ankle.

But to no use.

King Round practiced its self-care and chugged a carton of almond milk. It's HP was restored.

Susie, knowing no other way out of the battle, willingly bowed to the King. It bowed back, loosening its crown a bit.
She sighed out of annoyance, continuing to bow. The checker piece bowed right back, its crown wiggling slowly out of place.

Finally, the crown fell off at Susie's feet, shattering into pieces. The checker shrank into a C. Round again, rolling away in defeat.

*Susie won the battle!

Susie brushed her pants off, continuing on her way. She had a feeling Lancer was close.

She wondered as she walked, where the K. Round even got its carton of milk in the first place.
