31- An Awkward Dinner

"Mommy wake up!" Hallie screams as she jumps on our bed.

Nova groans and rolls over on her back.

"Pencer wake up! It's my birthday!" She yells jumping on my chest, causing a groan to erupt.

"Okay okay I'm up."

Nova and I sit up in bed and smile at Hallie. She was getting so big, six years old today.

Hallie squeals as she throws her body on us, wrapping us in a tight hug.

She quickly lets go and runs out of the room and downstairs.

Nova lays back down on the bed and lets out a puff of air.

"God I can't believe she's six already" I hear her mumble.

I lean back on my elbow and tilt my head to look at her.

"She's getting big, next thing you know she'll be in high school"

"And she'll have her own boyfriend"

"Uh no she will not."

Nova raises an eyebrow at me.

"She can't date until she's married. No wait! Until after she's been married for like thirty years"

Nova laughs at me and grabs the back of my neck, pulling my head down and placing her lips on mine.

I mold my lips to hers and kiss her back fervently. I couldn't get enough of her. She invaded my senses and I wanted so much more. But I couldn't today, not now anyway.

Reluctantly I pull away.

Nova bites her bottom lip as her eyes flutter open. She traces her fingers over my cheek, my jaw and to my lips.

"I love you" she whispers

"I love you" 

She leans up and gives me a quick peck before untangling the blankets from her body and getting out of bed.

I slowly follow after her as she goes into the closet.

She reaches for a shirt on the top shelf, and I take the time to wrap my arms around her waist. I pull her body flush against mine and start peppering kisses along her neck.

"Spence we should stop" she says breathless.

"But I don't wanna" I mumble against her neck.

"I can't show up to my daughters birthday party with hickeys" she says as she pulls out of my grip.

I stick out my bottom lip and pout.

Real mature right?

She turns around to face me with a shirt in hand.

"Don't pout baby, I promise we'll have alone time soon" she says before kissing my cheek and leaving the closet.

I groan and grab a red T-shirt before throwing it on and slipping a pair of jeans over my legs.

I run my fingers through my hair a few times before heading downstairs.

I can hear voices traveling up the stairs as I get closer to the bottom.

I knew the voices, but I hadn't heard them in a week.

Sitting in my living room was Lacey, Jonas, Griffin, Dakota and Penny. Alongside Savannah.

My eyes widen when I see her. I still wasn't over what she did. Even though I moved on and didn't love her anymore, it still hurt.

"Pencer! I invited Penny to my party!" Hallie screams running over to me.
