The moment Chan turned around to see his beloved, Minho leaned back on the wall with his arms crossed over his chest as he gazed at his friend tearing out of joy. He shook his head with a smile and walked off, giving the couple the privacy they deserved.

As he walked into the pasty white corridors of the hospital, he rolled the sleeves of his dress shirt down, concealing his tattoo-less arm and went out of the building. He didn't bother to say bye to his friends, he still had to fulfill his duties or else his soul would be sent in a place no one wants to be sent to.

Minho wandered around the streets of Seoul as his fingers ghosted over the lapis lazuli pendant on the necklace he wore everyday. He glanced nostalgically at the tall buildings that were once vast plains of lush green grasses, his eyes settling down on a familiar lawn that houses a 30-storey industrial hotel, the same lawn where his house was built thousands of years ago, when Korea was still divided into three powerful kingdoms.

Shaking his head, Minho headed to an empty alleyway and looked up at the sky, his fingers reaching up to hold the blue pendant before chanting something inaudible, until he vanished in thin air.

Year 1419.

As he held up his sundial, Minho sighed as he looked up at the sky, the bright sun beating on his face. He found shelter under a nearby tree and sat on the grass, his feet planted on the ground as he looked out in the distance, waiting for the love of his life.

“Boo!”

Minho turned his head around and saw (Y/N) grinning behind the tree trunk, her hair being swept to the side as she donned a cute yellow dress and a pair of cheap shoes.

“Come here,” he opened his arms wide and (Y/N) went straight into his arms, hugging him tightly. Minho chuckled and wrapped his arms around her torso, his lips kissing her forehead softly.

“(Y/N)?” Minho spoke up after a few minutes of cuddling.

“Hm?”

“I have something to tell you,” he stated seriously, scaring the girl for a bit.

“What is it?” the kind look on (Y/N)'s face made it even harder for him to tell her the harsh truth.

“I...”

“You're what?”

“I'm leaving.”

The girl's face dropped. “To where?” she asked shakily.

“To England.”

Minho felt like punching himself in the face thrice—no, more than thrice. He so badly wanted to inflict the pain onto himself than seeing (Y/N) break in front of him, it was like breaking his own heart and hers.

He hated himself.

He hated himself for being so selfish. He hated himself for not staying away when he can. He hated himself for making her fall for him every lifetime. He hated himself for being an immortal being.
