"Bugaboo!"
"Get off me, Chat, and stop calling me that!"
As the kitty played with its catnip, Amélie couldn't help but let out a laugh. Not just any giggle or squeal, it was a full belly laugh. Years, it had been years since she had laughed that hard. The feeling was satisfying, like recalling an old childhood memory or eating a homecooked meal. So filling was this feeling that a beautiful smile broke over her face. Her eyes settled as she let the joy just surround her. If only for a millisecond, I enjoyed every ounce of it.
Suddenly, a yoyo flew past her head forcing her to open her eyes and return to reality. The troubled girl was still wrestling her admirer to the ground in an endless battle. The sun was setting and Amélie decided to call it a night. Her parents would be at the door soon, and she should be in bed when that time came. Then she spotted a girl with orange hair waving in her direction. Checking over her shoulder to realize the girl was waving at her, she slowly approached.
"Hi! I'm Alya, creator of the Ladyblog. Can I ask you a few questions for the Ladyfans?"
"I mean..."
"Great! What do you call yourself?"
"W-What do I... umm," Amélie thought back to her Biology class last year. "Call me, Pavo!"
Giving a sloppy salute to the camera, she vanished.

"Good morning, Dad? You're up early."
My father groaned, "Morning Peppermint, I have to work a day shift today. Apparently, they are going to need extra help since we are going to have multiple school tours today."
"That's not fair, you just worked last night. How do they expect you to stay awake?"
He shook his head and rubbed his eyes with a heavy sigh. I poured him his café au lait for the morning and kissed his forehead. We exchanged weary smiles as I ran out the door. My dad shouldn't have to deal with these terrible night hours, I wish I could do it for him instead. I could pull through and struggle for him. How could I be so happy with my new powers while my father had to continue working without any sleep?
"Amélie, get over here and check this out!" Alya yelled.
"She's the only one who would get excited about a new villain in town." Marinette giggled.
"A new villain?" Alya grabbed my shoulders and shook me awake. I gestured for her to calm down and so she did, but her eyes were still wide. Jumping, she shoved the phone in my face as a few others gathered around to see what all the buzz was about.
"What do you call yourself?"
"W-What do I... umm," the costumed bird on screen scratcher the back of her neck in thought. "Call me, Pavo!" After the peacock disappeared, Alya continued.
"You heard it here first, folks. Paris has got itself a new villain calling herself Pavo. Of course, we know there is nothing to fear because Ladybug and Chat Noir will defeat her. Until next time, Ladyfans!" As the video ended Alya erupted like a volcano.
"There is a peacock miraculous! She might be working with Hawk Moth. There are some many possibilities; I have to keep following this story. More villains mean more heroes; we are probably going to see a lot more of Rena Rouge and Carapace!"
"Don't forget about Queen Bee!" Cholé shrieked as she silenced all the chatter.
"Uh, let's get to class. Don't forget we have a field trip today." Adrien cut in saving Cholé from a whirlwind of anger.
Field trip? Oh my gosh, the field trip!
We were one of the schools going to the Louvre today that my dad was complaining about! He had to work extra hours because of me. I clenched my jaw, unsure of who I was at odds with besides myself. As everyone began to file into the classroom, it hit me like a freight train. I totally forgot to get my field trip form signed. I ran to the bathroom while I promised my friends I would catch up later. I ripped the permission slip from my backpack and clicked my pen violently. I scribbled my name down, hesitated, and wrote my mother's down as well.
I was quite used to foraging my mother's signature. At my old school, whenever I got a bad grade on a test, they would ask for a parent signature. Of course, I couldn't show my mother my failure, so I signed it myself and became extremely good at it. I probably shouldn't be bragging about how well I can forge a signature, but what else was I supposed to brag about?
There is nothing honest I can do to find pride in.
I jogged out of the bathroom and panted as I was the last one to walk into the talkative classroom and hand the paper to the headmaster. I was finally able to relax. I plopped down in my seat and stayed quiet for most of the time we were waiting for the bus. I just didn't feel like socializing at the moment. I am really out of shape; I'm still panting and we are already walking to the busses.
