Chapter 2

After classes, dumaan muna ako sa isang fast food restaurant na malapit sa campus para bumili ng pagkain. I just ordered fries and burger. I sat and reviewed my notes while eating.

Nursing is so hard! Kaya pa ba, Alisha? Siyempre, oo! Alisha, ginusto mo 'to. Balang araw ay magiging registered nurse ka rin. Kaya mo 'yan, self. Nagsisimula ka pa lang.

"Alisha?" Someone tapped my shoulder when I was about to take a bite of my burger.

"Hayden." Napansin kong wala itong kasama, so I offered him a seat in front of me. "Tapos na'ng klase niyo?"

He nodded and sighed heavily. "Seems like you're busy. Should I move to another table?"

"Hindi na, ayos lang naman. How's Med Tech?" I asked. "Stressful."

I get that Med Tech is stressful, but 'yon na 'yon? Wala nang continuation? Maybe he's a private person. His words are cold and he doesn't talk too much, I guess. I wonder how he and Thea got along with, when Thea doesn't really talk to guys that much. Well, feel ko, merong something sa kanilang dalawa, eh. Or maybe Thea's the one who has feelings for him?

"Question. What's between you and Thea? Do you have a thing with her? Are you her secret boyfriend? Ano? Kayo na ba?"

"Althea and I are just friends."

"Alam mo, d'yan nagsisimula ang lahat, eh." I teased. "Kapag niloko mo 'yon, subukan mo lang. Naku!"

Totoo naman kasi. Sa simula, kunwari magkaaway 'tapos magkaka-develop-an sila. Magiging sila, 'tapos sa huli, iiwan din ng lalaki 'yong babae. Alam ko na 'yan! Eh 'di, sila na'ng may time magkaroon ng dyowa!

"You really talk too much, huh? We're just friends. Blockmates. That's all! We are MedTech students, so we probably don't have time for relationships."

I was in shock. That must be the longest statement he has ever told me. "How about you? Maybe you already had a boyfriend before? You must know how relationships work."

"Hindi, ah! Sa libro ko lang nababasa ang mga gano'n 'no! Nanonood din ako ng movies at series. Hanggang doon na nga lang ako nagkakaroon ng dyowa, eh!" I denied. I checked the time on my phone, so I looked at him and said, "I'll get going."

I took my notes and pens, and placed them inside my bag. I also took my car keys and stood up. When I was already leaving the table, Hayden cleared his throat.

"By the way, Alisha. The stories you read and the movies you watched are cliché."

I ignored him and went to my car anyway. I went back home. I really thought that he's a kind guy, but he's getting into my nerve. I'm very annoyed. Ano ba'ng problema niya sa binabasa at pinapanood ko?

When I arrived at our unit, I saw Fiona studying on her laptop in the living room. She looks stressed and tired with what she's studying, so I didn't mind bothering her. Althea and Bella might be in their rooms.

Papasok na sana ako sa kuwarto nang may tumawag sa 'kin. "Alisha Kelsie Andres!"

"Oh?" I turned to look at Thea who just got out of her room next to mine.

Si Thea lang pala. Si Thea! Thea! Kay Thea, Alisha! Kay Thea! I remembered what happened earlier so I tried to enter my room quickly.

"Sorry na! Sorry na, Tey! Bitiwan mo ako!" I was already facing her and she was tightly holding my wrist so I slapped her arm to make her let go of me. "May ikukuwento ako sa 'yo mamaya."

"Ano? Ano? Ano?" sabi niya kaya tinawanan ko na lang siya at pumasok na lang ako sa kuwarto ko.

I took a shower and did my skin care routine. I changed my outfit and wore an oversized black hoodie and some shorts since I'm just staying here in the unit. I tied my hair into a high bun and went outside. I knocked on her door.
