"Totoo ba 'to?
Ayisha called me while I was ordering coffee. As usual, I'm at the café, studying again.
[Ate, I have decided already. I want to go to law school. I want to be a lawyer. Buti na lang pala I took GAS!]
"Whose dream is that?" I placed my phone on my right shoulder and grabbed my order. "Mom's, dad's, or yours?"
[Chill, Ate . . . you're being so anxious. It's mine!]
"Did you tell them already? What did they say? Is it okay for them? Do you need me to tell them?" I asked, worriedly.
[Don't worry, sinabi ko na kila mommy and . . .]
"And?" I rolled my eyes. "Come on, Isha . . . ano'ng sinabi nila?"
[Okay naman daw. It's either UP or UC.]
I smiled in relief.
['Yon lang. Bye!]
I prefer her going to UC, so we could be together. Ayos lang naman but the thing is, I don't like her getting very pressured because of our parents if she will continue to stay with them. Well, we do quarrel a lot but I care for her even more. Pati na rin si Kyle. I care for the both of them so much.
I kept on scrolling but I realized that it's just a waste of time, so I went back to reading my notes. I studied for the subjects Philosophy and Pathology.
"May I seat here?"
"Nag-aaral ako. Pabayaan mo 'kong mag-isa.
"Uhm, okay?"
"Sabing nag-aaral ako. H'wag dito!" irita kong sinabi. "What's with the attitude?" the guy asked once more. I looked at the guy and glared, but my glare faded when I saw a guy in a black silky longsleeved shirt.
Ikaw pala 'yon." Nataranta ako at hindi alam ang gagawin. "Order ka muna!" I told him, so he went to the counter. As soon as he walked away, I grabbed my liptint, brushed my long hair, and sprayed some perfume on my body.
"Nursing's tough, huh?" Muntikan na akong napatalon sa gulat. Ang bilis niya. Nandito na pala siya. "What's that? Pathology? Oh I see . . . Cardiac pathology."
I let out a smile.
"Do you understand that topic?" he asked, looking at me. I shook my head in reply. I pointed at my notes. I let him look at what's written on it, then he quietly nodded.
"Dyspnea is an uncomfortable vigilance of breathing. Orthopnea is dyspnea when in the supine situation because of expanded venous return and expanded pneumonic venous weight," he tried to explain. "'Tapos?"
"Paroxysmal nighttime dyspnea is when patients stir with dyspnea 2 to 4 hours after nodding off due to focal rearrangement of fringe edema."
"Do you understand it now?"
