Under the Same Starry Skies

Chapter 4

The whole day, I just had to review my notes and books. It was a busy day for all of us in the university. I can see students from different departments reading in the campus. Some people would have breakdowns and some people would sleep. They probably didn't have enough sleep. Although I've been too occupied with my studies, I am still wondering if Hayden went to school since he is still sick.

I was about to go down the stairway but speaking of the devil, I saw him walking towards me with little energy. Kung dati, mukha na siyang matamlay, may mas lalala pa pala roon. "Hey, are you still sick? Bakit ka pa pumasok?"

"I'm okay. My temperature is already normal," he affirmed. "Thanks to you."

"Paano kung mabinat ka?" tanong ko. Ayaw ko namang magkasakit siya ulit. How can he worry about other people's health when he can't think about himself? I mean, I know med school is hard, but he should take care of himself too you know!

Okay, but why do I sound like a girlfriend? Kidding! Geez, I am just concerned as a girl friend. With a space!

"Ayos nga lang ako, don't worry. Your chicken soup that you cooked for me last night made me feel much better," he said in a monotone. He grabbed my bag and smiled.

"Teka, ano'ng meron? Saan tayo pupunta?" I was startled by his gesture. I didn't know what to do.

"Ah, sorry. May gagawin ka later?" He gave my bag back so I laughed at him.

"Wala naman. Magre-review lang ako," I replied.

"Do you want to review sa café?" he carefully asked. "Sure!" I was actually planning to study later pero naiwan ko pa 'yong iba kong notes sa condo. "Anong oras?"

He told me the time and where we'll meet later to review. Nagtanong pa siya kung gusto kong ihatid pa niya ako papuntang condo pero sinabihan ko na rin siya na mayroon pa nga akong naiwan at sasabay na ring umuwi sa akin 'yong tatlo. When we split paths, I went inside my car and waited for the two so we can fetch Bella.

I started the engine, then I called Fiona. I asked her where they are at ang sabi niya lang ay malapit na raw sila. Nakita ko silang papalapit na kaya kumaway ako at tinawag ko sila. "Tey! Fio!" Pumasok naman sila ng kotse at as usual, nagpatugtog na si Thea. Tinawagan na rin ni Fiona si Bella para masabihan siya na papunta na kami roon.

Nang masundo na namin si Bella, dumiretso na kami sa condo. "Aalis din pala ako mamaya. Pupunta ako ng café," pagpapaalam ko para alam nila. Dahil mamayang pagkauwi namin, alam kong didiretso sila sa mga kama nila. Hindi na kami nakapagkuwentuhan dahil nakatulog din sila. Napagod siguro.

When we got home, nagpunta na nga sila sa kuwarto nila. Just like what I expected. I took a shower and wore a black fitted cami top tucked in my mom jeans. I folded my jeans, then I wore my checkerboard sneakers with my black socks. I also wore a belt and a red jacket and I put on a necklace and tied my hair into a bun. I don't want to forget my notes again, so I made sure that I brought it with me.

I was about to enter the elevator when I saw Lucas getting out from it. "Saan ang punta? May date ka?"

"Uhm, siguro coffee date while reviewing?" I joked. "D'yan lang sa café, magre-review."

"Sana all, may date!" He said and raised both of his hands. "Grabe ka, magre-review ka na nga lang sa caf ganiyan pa ang porma mo!"

"Ikaw nga, mukhang lamig na lamig, eh!" I fired back. He was wearing a white hoodie layered with his unzipped black jacket. Nakasuot pa siya ng ripped jeans, black sneakers and and orange bonnet.

"Siyempre, nasa Baguio tayo. Ano pa ba ang dapat kong suotin?" He placed his hand at the door of the elevator since I still didn't get in kaya pumasok na rin ako. "Ikaw nga, lalabas ka na nga lang dito sa Baguio, nakasuot ka pa ng sando!"
