Grateful

I've made it very obvious in the past that I haven't ever minded the Cullen's. The Cullen's are good people.

After I imprinted on the miracle child of Bella and Edward Cullen, I was more than a little nervous for everyone's reactions. I'm honestly not sure what I expected. It might not have exactly been a bunch of ravenous vampires coming for my throat, but I certainly wasn't expecting what I got, either.

Ren has reminded me of everyone's reactions more times than I can count already. Not through words of course, though. She may grow considerable everyday, but she's still only 5 days old.

Ren loves to show me Bella's reaction the most. She shows me that one at least ten times a day by holding her tiny little palm over my cheek. There is always puts so much love behind the projection, too. I could never grow tired of seeing it.

Bella was the last to know. She didn't find out until after her transformation. The other Cullens found out rather quickly, though. Edward knew first, of course. He apparently could hear my thoughts while being so focused on Bella, they just didn't mean anything to him until he let them mean something. Rosalie was the first to know and actually understand what had happened. The rest of the family soon followed.

The majority all found out at once, which was very nerve racking. As soon as Edward was sure Bella was waking up, and he wasn't solely focused on her, he almost immediately registered my thoughts. As if he needed the news shoved in his face some more, he also simultaneously heard it from several different sources. He heard it from my thoughts, Rosalie's thoughts, and Jacobs thoughts.

His bite nor his bark was not as bad as my nerves made me believe they would be.

He simply called out "I will not leave Bella's side. Rosalie, bring me my daughter."

I was very torn when she turned with her trademark smirk on her face, and arms held out for my Ren. My hesitate reaction was enough for Edward to make one more comment, though.

"Seth, I'm very grateful for you saving my daughter, but I haven't decided on how I feel about anything else. You will hand her to Rosalie. You may stay, but please give my family the privacy we have earned."

I painfully handed her over.

It wasn't that I thought she would come to any harm, of course she was safe with her family, but once I had her it was almost unbearable to put any distance between us.

It gets better, knowing I'll have her again, but it's always painful handing her over. Even when I'm only sitting across the room, I'm very aware of every motion she makes.

I'm also very aware of the invisible cord that strains my every nerve when were apart. It gets easier every time I get her back, though.

Maybe, I just have to build up trust that I will get her back. It's very hard to do so when we aren't even sure how long we have with her. My throat tightens every time I consider that she has limited time, unlike the rest of us. Carlisle has to take measurements on her multiple times a day, and we aren't sure when, or if, the growing will stop.

Nobody knows what to expect from her life. Just like know one knew what to expect when I tried to explain the imprinting situation to them all. Rosalie has known from a conversation with Edward about Jacob, but neither had explained to any of the others. They didn't have a reason to, until now.

Carlisle and Esme tried their best to be as polite as usual before I had explained what it meant, but when they first found out they both wore very similar nervous smiles. I noticed the looks they shoot Edward when they thought I wasn't looking. They didn't really understand what it meant, but they were trying their best to be understanding. Emmet broke the ice, though. He just ask what they were all thinking.
