Devin was miserable and he couldn't get life together, he missed Elisa so much and all he could do was waste away with alcohol.

    He heard the sound of silhouette and whoever was coming in he was curious to find out..
   There stood Brie looking very hot in that dress showing off cleavage and thighs..

    Brie walked towards him and sat on his laps, he didn't care.
She tried kissing him which he responded for a while and then pulled away "please leave!" he sighed and run a hand through his hair.
Brie was dumbfounded, after all what she went through to get him, he still rejected her.

She was furious and didn't hide it but Devin didn't care.

   That very moment police officers headed by Elisa walked into the office, Elisa was smiling and she felt she had made it, so why was she feeling guilty..
"Mr. Sanders Devin, you are under arrest for the murder of Mr and Mrs Brooks" she ordered him to be handcuffed but he declined and agreed to follow them..

He didn't want to run and he didn't care, if Elisa wasn't in his world it was more or less over for him so he might as well rot in jail..

Devin's POV
I spent months in jail but I didn't care, I got to see Elisa from time to time so I was happy.
Then I realised there was a glow to her, she was pregnant..

Even though I hated being in prison just because I was doing my job I loved to watch the woman I love do what she loved.. I am supposed to hate her for this but I was proud of her, she can stand up to me if I mess up and that is adorable..

I knew I will be released soon, it is against the law to hold someone in prison; in fact someone like me, the state will end up compensating me and all my criminal records cleared.

Elisa's POV

    Seeing Devin in there was hell, I know it was what I wanted but it wasn't right, it didn't feel right there was something off about it.
I had a call from my captain to see him in his office and I was excited about it.

   I walked into the office to see my captain, "you asked to see me?" he nodded his head while looking through some files, "yes I did and it is about Devin Sanders" I swear my heart beat increased by a tenth.

  "He can't be imprisoned!" I stood there in shock, what was he telling me, did he bribe my captain or what?
   He crossed his arms and told me to sit so he explains to me "the truth is Devin was a hitman, that was it he was following orders and the only one who can be arrested is the one behind the hit"

I was stupid, why didn't I hear him out! I felt dumb, hit men had immunity to the law unless the one who made the hit, and enough evidence is gathered.

    I was ashamed and slowly dragged my feet to his cell and unlocked it, there was a knot in my stomach and a huge lump in my throat, I will burst out in tears but I tried to be strong..

    He hugged me, I was shocked but it felt so warm and peaceful, he muttered a thank you to me and headed out..
I realised I was stupid and blinded by rage that I had lost the man I loved..

     Devin knew the law, hitmen had immunities to murder so long as you had your license and even though he quit his job his hadn't expired.
He texted Elisa and asked her to meet up after work..

She didn't reply but headed straight to Devin's place right after work, she needed answers to all of this.

Everything was so confusing to her and her strength was dying out.
