Deathbringer's POV

Today was a Sunday. Deathbringer had nothing to do. Maybe you could do your assignment? Like a good assassin would do? He could almost hear his mother's voice say.

Wait. Assignment.....oh no.

Deathbringer sprung up from his bed and ran out the door. "Where are you going?" Glory asked as he zoomed by her.

"I got.....stuff to do." He replied as he struggled to put on his shoes.
Glory gave him a skeptical look, but turned back to doing the homework she forgot to do over the week.

Deathbringer ran out his dorm and onto the street. Oh boy was he going to be in trouble.

"Late? Be more responsible next time. If I give you a next time." Morrowseer warned. Deathbringer almost rolled his eyes, but managed to stop himself.

"Have you completed your mission?" He asked. Deathbringer shook his head. "Not yet. But I promise I will.......do I have to kill her?" He asked, quietly.

Morrowseer looked like he was going to explode. "Do you have to?!!! Of course you have to! Don't you ever question your missions ever again! Understood?" He yelled.

Deathbringer reluctantly nodded. "It's just.....I don't-maybe we could come up with another way? You know, so that Glory doesn't have to die? Please?" He asked, trying to hide the hope he had in his words.

Morrowseer smirked. "You're in love." He said, amusingly. Deathbringer blushed. "N-no. I don't-I don't fall in love with my targets." He tried to say it smoothly, but just the thought of Glory made him turn into jelly.

Am I in love with her? No, I'm not. Is this what love feels like? No, it's not. Then why do I care about her so much? Because she's beautiful, smart, sarcastic-okay stop that.

"Lies. I've been in love before. I know exactly how you feel." He said. Deathbringer was surprised. He didn't know that Morrowseer-of all people-fell head over heels for someone.

"I even had a daughter with her. She hid her from me, but I soon found out. Her name is Moonwatcher. She goes to that school I sent you to." Morrowseer continued.

This conversation quickly turned into talking about Morrowseer.

"Anyways, I want you to kill that Gorsy, or whatever her name is, quickly." Morrowseer said, voice deep and serious.

Deathbringer nodded. "Alright then, dismissed." Morrowseer said. Deathbringer walked sadly back to his dorm.

"Done with the 'stuff you needed to do?'" Glory asked as he collapsed onto their small couch. She sat down next to him. "Not yet." He muttered.

Glory sighed. "Okay, what's wrong?" She asked, touching Deathbringer's hand with her's, making his heart speed up. Why is my heart pounding so much? Why do I feel so nervous now?

He shook his head. "N-nothing." He said. Glory sighed and squeezed his hand. "What's the 'nothing' that's wrong then?" She asked.

Deathbringer reluctantly told her the story. "I'm actually an assassin." He said, sheepishly. "I was sent in a mission to kill you. You never had a bodyguard, I just told your brother that your grandma made me your bodyguard. I went out today because I had a meeting with my....boss? He was starting to get impatient that I hadn't killed you yet."

Glory had wide-eyes. "Y-your joking. No way. You-I-assassin?!" She stuttered. Deathbringer put his fingers on her chin, lifting her head up. "I'm not going to kill you. I don't know the reason why, but all I know is that you're not dying. Especially not because I had to kill you." He reassured.

Glory wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a hug. Deathbringer sighed and smiled, hugging her back. He thought about Morrowseer finding out about this, but he put that thought to the back of his head.

This is supposed to be my job. So why can't I kill you?

Auuugrrrrh, why is Glorybringer always finding its way into my stories??!! Not even Winterwatcher does that! Three moons, my OTP is going to take over this story soon...
