Winter's POV

Winter never really liked being royalty. All the 'must be perfect' and 'make a good first impression' and 'oh so very high expectations' were killing him.

Of course, he still had to act royal, but that caused him to have no friends. Well, except for maybe one, or two. Qibli, his roommate, introduced him to his friends. Maybe they were all friends, maybe they weren't.

They were mostly known for the difference between them but still get along. Winter was the mean and grouchy. Qibli was the funny and smart. Moon was the shy and bookworm. Kinkajou was the happy and funny. Turtle was the not-want-any-attention and shy.

For some reason, people started calling them 'Jade Winglet'. Winter thought it was weird, but their friendship group was even weirder. The weirdest.

"And music is the best class, you're going to love it! I'm awesome at the drums. You should try them!" Qibli continued to rant about music class while Winter zoned out.

Winter didn't completely hate music. He actually quite enjoyed it. But being royalty means that 'he should not show any kind of affection to such a horrible thing'.

"Hey, look!" Qibli shouted, snapping Winter back into reality. "We're here! Come on!"

Oh boy was this going to be a nightmare.
—————————————————
"Welcome to your first class of music or whatever." Their music teacher-Ms. Blister-said. "Now, I want each of you to pick an instrument and play it. Do whatever you want, since it's the first class and all."

Qibli, obviously ran toward the drums. Kinkajou and Moon were going through the choices and deciding. Turtle just looked around nervously.

Winter looked at everyone who had gone to the instruments. Qibli and another SandWing were blasting the drums together. Kinkajou had decided to try the triangle. Glory played the guitar while Deathbringer tried, and failed, to play the flute.

Winter looked around again. His eyes landed on a piano, the same kind he had first played on. He slowly walked toward it and ran his fingers lightly through the keys.

He smiled to himself and plopped onto the open chair. He could feel Qibli staring at him, but he ignored it. Winter set his fingers on the piano and began to play.

(Soooo since I don't know any good songs, just imagine Winter playing your favorite song, tell me it in the comments!)

As Winter brought his hands back down, he heard the whole room silent. Not a single noise was heard. He turned around slowly, observing everyone.

They all stared at him in utter shock. Then, someone clapped.

More clapping. Soon, the whole room clapped, even Ms. Blister.....for him. They were clapping for him. Winter.

"I never knew polar bears could play piano!!" Qibli shouted.

Winter rolled his eyes and stood up from the chair. "Alright then," Ms. Blister started. "We're going to sing next because I want to see you all get humiliated."

She pointed to a female student. "You, sing." She commanded. The student slowly walked to the front of the class.

"Uhhh....hi?" She started. "I'm uh going to sing? Is that what I'm suppose for do? I'm going to sing 'The Call'."

Then, she started to sing. It wasn't really good, but not horrible. "You'll come baaack, when it's oooooover! No need to say GOODBYEEE!!!" She screamed at the last part, making everyone laugh.

She soon finished, and everyone clapped. Then, Ms. Blister pointed to Glory, the granddaughter of Grandeur, the owner of RainWings.

Glory reluctantly walked up to the front of the class. "I just wanted to say that before I start, if you ever hear Ms. Blister sing," she paused before saying, "like that one time in the bathroom when she was singing "So Call Me Maybe!" to a picture of our freaking school principal."

The class laughed. "I wanted to say that if you ever hear her sing, plug your ears and run." Glory said, dramatically. "RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN FROM THAT EAR BREAKING MONKEY HIPPO NOISE!!!"

Ms. Blister was about to say something before she was cut off by Glory. "Anyways, I'm going to be singing, 'Keep Holding On'."

The green haired girl hesitated before she started singing. It was really good, not at the level of professional, but still super good.
"So far away, I wish you were here. Before it's to late this could all disa-ppear." She continued to sing.

Winter looked at Deathbringer, wanting to see his reaction to her voice. His face was a mixture of shock, bewilderment and....something else. Love? Was that it?

Soon, Glory finished, and the whole room clapped so loud Winter thought the windows might break.

Soon, student after student went up to sing. Until it was Winter's turn. He was the last person to sing.

Winter stepped to the front of the room and looked around nervously. He saw Kinkajou and Turtle give him a thumbs-up while Moon and Qibli smiled.

Winter took a deep breath and said, "I'm going to be singing 'Gone Too Soon'."

As Winter sang, he felt the whole room go silent, just they way they did when Glory sang, or when he played the piano.

"Not a day goes by. That I don't think of you." He sang. Winter finished the song and shut his eyes, waiting for 'boo's' and tomatoes being thrown at him.

But that didn't happen. Actually, nothing happened.

Winter slowly opened one eye and looked at his friends. Moon, Qibli, Kinkajou and Turtle all nodded in unison. And then they clapped.

Then Sunny clapped. And then Glory, Tsunami, Clay, Deathbringer Peril And Riptide. Then, Tamarin, Sora, Pike, Anemone and Mightyclaws clapped.

Ms. Blister clapped. Everyone clapped.

Winter smiled at them. Maybe he didn't have to act all royal around everyone. Well, definitely not his friends. Hopefully.

Huh. Friends. I like the sound of that.
