Selina

I woke up, slightly dazed by the strong light flowing into my dull and dreary apartment. I winced slightly in pain as I felt one of my eyes struggle to open. I sat up and stretched my arms, wincing again from the small yet painful bruises that hung around my body.

Last night wasn't a good night.

I attempted to steal from Black Mask, just some cash until he found me and beat me to a pulp. Hell, he might have killed me if it wasn't for the Bat. I smiled as I remembered him, bursting through the window, his blue eyes sparkling with passion.

I got out of bed and brushed my teeth quickly and washed my face before walking to my desk. I picked up my lipstick and applied onto my lips and smeared it and putting on black mascara after. I took my phone out of the charge and opened it to see a text from Bruce Wayne.

Hey, don't forget about my birthday party today xx

I groaned. I had forgotten that it was his birthday today.

I haven't haha. Happy birthday, Bruce xx

I sat on my couch and grabbed my dusty laptop and opened it, eager to find the perfect present for this rich boy. At least, what was perfect for me. God only knew how stuck up this boy was. I could feel those piercing ocean eyes on me whenever I got him a crap present. Then my phone vibrated again.

By the way, please don't cancel on me again. I really want to spend the night with you. I miss you Selina.

I smiled and let out a sigh of relief. God this guy was adorable.

I promise I won't, Bruce. xo

Okay. Gotta go, bye ❤️

Goodbye 💖

I threw my laptop to the side and got up from the sofa. I walked to my wardrobe and pulled out a pair of blue jeans and a plain black shirt and quickly slid into them. I grabbed my bag and stuffed my phone and headphones into it. I moved my bed slightly to see a loose floorboard and I slowly picked it up to see all my cash and valuables there. I picked up a few hundred dollars and quickly put the floorboard back and moved my bed back to where it was. I put the money in my bag and I opened the door and left my apartment, locking it behind me.

Bruce

I yawned, struggling to keep myself awake through this meeting. I checked my watch and groaned quietly when I saw that there was another 10 minutes to get through. I felt like my brain was about to explode from trying to gather all this new information.

"Mr Wayne?"

I snapped out of my daydreaming to see all eyes on me. Just then, my phone vibrated in my pocket and I pulled it out to see Selina's name on it. I smiled and sighed in relief before standing up.

"Sorry, I have to take this phone call. Keep discussing."

I slipped out of my office and answered the call, and put it to my ear. "Selina? Hey, what's up?"

"Hey, Bruce." My smile grew wider; I loved the sound of her voice.

"Are you calling to cancel? Because if you are..." I trailed off, my happiness dropping like a bomb.

"No, no, of course I'm not. I'm just calling to tell you that I might be late tonight. You see, I got...mugged. Some bastard took some money I had.

"Oh shit," I whispered, scratching the back of my head, "How much?"

"$700." she said weakly.

I could feel and hear the pain in her voice. I wanted to wipe it away.
