Chapter 5

Chamber's POV:

My parents. The fire. How all the pain started. It's been a long time since I told someone what happened to my parents. I almost told Ally what happened with them, but I know she already knows what happened because you know of school gossip of course.

I turned away from her when I almost mentioned my parents death and sat down on the couch that is in my room. She then sat down across from me and I stood up and walked to my table just beside the couch and got my periodic table. I sat down again and put the periodic table at the small coffee table. We sat there in silence and just stared at the periodic table. At some point, I sat down next to her cause it's hard to read when the table of elements is facing towards her. We were still looking at the elements thinking what would be the best element to describe your partner.

I look at the time and cleared my throat. "Listen, umm we are already sitting here for about almost two hours. How about I drop you off to your house or let you sleep here cause from the looks on your face you look really tired and sleepy now." I asked her and she looked at me. Her brown eyes look straight in my light brown ones. Our faces our inches apart and I can feel her hot breath hitting my lips. She then realized that we were so close so she looked front and cleared her throat. "I - I , umm, just drop me off at my house. It's embarrassing if I stay here maybe I'll just disturb you." She said while not looking at me but at the table of elements. "O-OK then." I replied and I stood up and went to the door to open it I waited for here to stand up and dashed out the door. I went downstairs and got my keys to find her sitting on the couch with her bag beside her. "Let's go." I said and she jumped and screamed a little. I tried not to laugh but I couldn't, so I laughed and she pouted like a four year old when someone took her chocolates. Gosh, how I wanna kiss that pout away. Stop it Chamber you're not falling for her. Said my inner thoughts.

I walked to the garage door that is connected to the kitchen and let her out first. We walked towards the GTR and I opened the door for her. She thanked me and got in and I closed my door and walked towards the driver's side. I reverse the car and drove straight out to the garage. I waited for the garage door to open with the remote that is in my car which I totally forgot to use it earlier. I continue to drive until we reached the gate. It opened and I drove out.

"I forgot to ask where you live." I asked once we reached the main streets of the city. "Or you can just put it in the GPS of the car. Just type your address at the screen and I just drive to it." She put her address in and I waited till she finished. She leaned back to her seat and I just follow the directions to where she live.

Once we reached the destination, I look at her and she is asleep. I shook her lightly and she opened her eyes halfway but then closed again. I guess she is really tired. "Are we there yet." She asked a little sleepy. "Yes, we're here so please wake up." I replied and I hear light snores. Oh you've got to be kidding me. I sighed and got out of the car. I walked towards her side and opened her door when she almost fell but I catch her instantly. I took her bag at the back seat and sling it on my shoulders. I carried her bridal style out of the car and kicked the door. I walked to her front porch and ring the door bell. A few seconds later, the door open revealing a lady that looks exactly alike like Ally.

"Hi you must be Mrs. Hernandez. I'm Darreth Chamber, Ally's science partner for an assignment that is tasked to us." I said with a smile.

"Oh thank Lord, she's alright. Jerry don't call the police anymore she's fine." She said and yelled the last part looking inside. "Hi Darreth, I'm Ally' mom and please call me Patricia or Pat, Mrs. Hernandez makes me feel so old, and please come in." She said with a smile and moved aside to let me in.

When I get in there was a man which I assume is her father. "Hey there. I'm Jerry, Ally's dad and you must be?" He asked curiously.

"Darreth sir, Darreth Chamber but you can me by my first or last name Mr. Hernandez." I said still with my smile.

"OK, but please call me Jerry." He said and I nodded my head. "Oh and Ally's room is upstairs. The door at the very end." He finished and I thanked him. I went up the stairs and walked to the very end of the hallway where her room is just like what Jerry said. I open the door and walk towards her bed. I laid her down and set her bag on the chair that is beside her bed stand. I looked around her room and see that it's not that messy but there are some clothes and books scattered on the floor. There were a few posters of *NSYNC, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, and Selena. I heard some shuffling so I look towards her bed to see a cat that is maybe hers lay on her feet. I walk towards and when I got closer it became angry. I held my hand out and moved towards it slowly to pet. When it smelled my hand it calmed down a bit. I pet it slowly and she purred. "Now aren't you a cute little cat for an annoying master." I whispered so that Ally won't hear me, because if she did she will kill me. I continue to pet it for a little while until it was asleep.

I walked out of her room when they are settled. I head downstairs to see Jerry watching the NBA replay of San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors. Don't get me wrong, I live in San Antonio but I much rather support the Warriors cause of their defense and shooting tricks.

"Yes, yes, OK, OK good now go for the three pointer. Woah, woah go, go,gooooo, nooooo" I chuckled a little to Jerry's reaction when DeMar DeRozan missed the three points. He looked at me when he heard me and pat the couch motioning to sit beside him.

"Still devastated from the championship are we Jerry?" I asked and he chuckled and nodded his head.

"Why are you not devastated when the Warriors won over the Spurs?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Nope cause I'm a Warrior. Don't get me wrong I like the Spurs but the Warriors are just better, cause you know of their strategies and strong defenses."

"You're right that is true but we live in San Antonio, so I support the Spurs more, plus I've watched all their games and never misses a single one."

"Wow, we got a die hard Spurs fan eh." I said and he laughed. "Well anyway I just get home now. I'll see you guys again." I stood up and Jerry and Pat hugged me each. They walk me towards the door and Pat opened it. "Bye." I walk out and walk to my car. I got in and drove straight home. When I got home, I walk to my room and change and flop my body to my bed. I rolled over and looked straight at the ceiling thinking of many reasons that is hard to explain. I shrugged it off and closed the lights with the remote at my bed stand and drifted off to sleep.
