D E N N I S E

I got back to manila with Aly's smile plastered on my head. I can't forget how she smiled at me when she bid her goodbye.

It's only sunday and normally it's family day. Tho' I have my own unit I have to go home every sunday and have dinner with my siblings and parents. I took a grab from the airport to my flat, settled my things and decided to take a nap.

I woke up feeling head over shit as my body is craving for some smoke. I took out a box of cigarettes from my besdside drawer, lit one stick and went over to my pad's balcony. Ortigas is so crowded, you'll almost forget how sad you are. Almost.

It was almost dark when I decided to get ready so I can drive to Parañaque, where my parents' live. I was driving when I took another cigarette out and lit it while driving.

I got to our house and parked my car outside. I stepped in and I saw Mosh running towards me. Yumuko ako para masalubong ko yung yakap nya.

Mosh said while he's hugging me "Grabe ate, umitim ka!" we broke the hug when Mom stepped out of the kitchen and said "Mosh, baby, galing ng beach yung ate mo. Normal lang na umitim sya" lumapit sya samin, gave me a kiss and a hug and continued "Tara sa dining, nakaupo na ang daddy mo."

We stepped into our dining room, I tapped dad's back and gave him a kiss. "Oh, andito ka na pala. We've been waiting. Tara let's eat" I took my place on the left side of dad besides justine. I took a deep breath and prayed it wont be as bad as before. Every week my dad has a way of showing me how dissapointed he is and today is just any other sunday.

"So how was boracay?" I heard my dad asked. "It was refreshing." I said ng walang ka emosyon emosyon. "Good, narefresh ka. Baka sakaling this time you'll take my offer sa Company" he stopped eating and looked at me seriously.

I sighed. Here we go again. I took up BS Biology when I was in college. When I was a child, it was my dream to be a doctor. It kept me going until I was in college. Until I met myco. Just thinking of him puts a sad smile on my face. He changed how I view things in life and from that moment on I just wanna live every single day to my fullest. No hassle, no drama. Just maximizing every second and making sure you're happy every minute that drops.

My dad is a doctor, too and he kinda owns a hospital around Quezon City. He wants me to get a medical degree and continue my dream of being doctor or more of like his dream but for now he wants me to be the head biologist of the Hospital. I'm already 26 and I was just 21 when I graduated college. 5 years nakong kinukulit ng daddy ko about this.

"Dennise, anak. Kinakausap ka ng Daddy mo." Mom called my attention kasi nakatitig na lang ako sa food ko.

"Dy, sobrang tagal ko ng hindi nagppractice ng biology. Hindi ko na alam yang mga yan. Ipapahiya ko lang ang Hospital kung ako ilalagay mo na head." I said, trying to rationalize.

"Yun lang pala, edi take up medicine muna. I'll pay for the fee, your condo, your car, Ako na muna sasagot ng lahat ng bayarin mo. Atleast mar'refresh ka sa mga medical technicality." Dad said trying to persuade me into this.

"Daddy, please." I said. Hoping na marinig nya yung desperation sa boses ko na ayoko talaga.

He sighed and said "You should stop fooling around, dennise. Lahat ng pinaglalaban mo dati, their all gone. This just proves na you should stop listening to your heart and start using your mind"

I can hear the dissapointment in his voice. I mean I work for my own daily needs naman and l'm doing something I'm comfortable at. I work in Honda as a sales representative. Sobrang less hassle ng work ko, I just need to make sure na meron akong 7 closed deals every week, regardless kung monday pa lang maka 7 nako then that means wala nakong work for the rest of the week. Sobrang easy, sobrang chill. If myco was here I bet he would love to have my job.

"Enough about work, let's ask mosh kung kamusta yung basketball game nya kanina. They won!! Tell them, honey" Signalling mosh na magkwento.

"Well, hindi naman sa mayabang pero madali lang yung kalaban namin. Grabe dad, if you can see their faces kapag nas'steal ko yung ball from them." He said. May action pang magkwento.

The night went well, I was bidding my goodbyes to mom and dad ng mapansin kong wala si Justine sa sala. So I went up to her room. I knocked before entering

"Jus, aalis nako." I said as I enter her room. I saw her sitting on her bed while using her phone. She just nodded signaling me na parang 'Okay'

I sighed and stepped out of the room. Kung merong isang tao na mas cold pa yung treatment sakin kesa kay daddy, si jus yun. Ever since...

Ever since Myco came into my life, we drifted apart.

I got to my flat and smoked another stick before washing up and settling to bed. Tomorrow is monday and first day of work. That means tambak ang quota ng mga tao.

Monday came in and I was prepping up. I was applying my make up on when I thought of Alyssa. I'm actually tempted in checking her facebook and instagram account since I remember her last name nung nagpakilala sya kay Bea. 'Alyssa Valdez' her name got stuck in my head. I snapped out of my thoughts and realized 'No dennise, enough of that.'

I went to work and busy day as usual. I stepped into Honda Makati and greeted the other sales representative. If your a good sales rep normally you'll get assigned sa Honda stores pag medyo palyado ang sales mo normally you'll get assigned sa malls - in which no one likes kasi most of the time you'll be standing and handing out flyers.

I saw Kianna, one of my buddies here in the office. She's busy doing something on her desk. "Agang paperwork yan ah." I said while setting up my laptop in my desk.

"Yes, someone inquired this morning tas saktong early bird award ako." Kianna replied. "Naks, hulog ng langit kind of a sale?" I said joking her. "Yes, walang kaeefort effort." She said smirking.

The day went by, I was able to make two sales. Not the usual that I'll get but enough to make me feel exhausted. I went home, ending my day the same way as I did yesterday.

Tuesday night I decided to go to the Prime in morato. A Club that I'm a regular in. I sat down by the bar and signalled the bartender.

"1 week ka atang nawala, den" Pocholo said. He's a regular employee kaya familiar nako sakanya and vice versa. "Nagout of town ako, so tumambak yung quota ko kaya medyo hinabol ko kahapon." Sabi ko sakanya.

"Oh, eto beer mo. Iwan muna kita ah. Wag kang magpasaway" he said while asking some of the guest kung anong drink order nila. Crowded places are my kind of thing. It drifts me from the reality na malungkot ako.

And

Yes. Malungkot ako.

"Hey." Someone came to me and kinukuha yung atttention ko.

I smiled halfly and waived my hand. Sobrang ingay kasi and I don't feel like exerting an effort in speaking.

"Bago ka lang dito?" He asked, almost shouting.

"Nope, you?" I responded. "Yea, first time."
"I'm Andrei and you are?" He's directly speaking at my ear. "Mitch" I said. We talked for the night when I kinda felt his hands on my thighs. I opened my legs, checking how far will he go. He moved his hands on my center and whispered "Wanna go out of here?" I nodded and went with him to his place.

Once we got to His place he was kissing me at my  neck when I stopped him and asked "Magisa ka lang dito?". He responded by saying "Yes babe. Why?"

"Di ka naman siguro KJ no?" I asked smirking. Kilala ko na lahat ng lakaking nakaka hook up ko, All of them will say yes. Puro ego ang pinapagana, ayaw magmukhang mahina and all. He nodded tho' I kinda see him getting curious. I took my bag and pulled out a joint.

"Wait. Magw'weed ka dito?" I heard this guy asked. "Yea, I don't do casual sex ng di ako high. Either I do this so you can have sex with me or I dont and we dont have sex" I looked at him waiting for his answer pero alam ko na sagot ng mga 'to. Ofcourse, they will say yes.

He looked at me intently and nodded. See? I smoked my joint and when I was high enough, I touched his dick and asked "Game?" then smiled at him.
