I walked down the long road, the harsh sun burning my back. Im alone now, it's better this way. It starts to rain, blocking out the sun's rays. I tilt my head up and open my mouth, welcoming the cool, refreshing water. I guess my parents knew what they were doing when they named me Rain.

I walked for hours, it stopped raining and the sun was already starting to dry me. I kept walking, putting one foot in front of the other.

Then I heard that sound, that oh so familiar and unwelcoming sound. I looked ahead and saw them. I pulled out a knife and threw it at the closest walker, hitting it directly between the eyes. Then I pulled out my bow and quickly killed the rest.

I decided to keep my bow in my hand, not because I was worried about walkers but because it made me feel powerful and unstoppable. I kept walking, heading nowhere in particular when I heard an unusual sound, one I haven't heard in a long time. Voices.

I looked behind me and saw a group of people down the road, I wasn't sure if they saw me yet so I quickly climbed the closest tree. I held my breath and waited.

"Hello?" yelled a man with a southern accent, "we saw you climb up there." Shit, they saw me.

"You don't have to be afraid, we won't hurt you" said the same man.

"Dad let's just go" said a male voice that seemed about my age. I agree with him, I want them to leave.

"No we can help her" said the man, "please come down you can trust us." I shook my head, I can't trust anyone.

"Let's just go, if the bitch don't wanna come down she don't have to" said another male voice. I perked up, that voice, could it really be...

"Daryl, just let me handle this" said the man with the southern accent.

For the first time since I've been alone, I spoke, "Daryl, is that really you?"

There was silence for a while and I started to regret saying something when suddenly, he replied.

"Rain?"
