Chase's P. O. V

I had woken up the next morning I went towards the den wondering if we were going to have breakfast, normally I would have to scavenge for food, not today, it felt good not having to worry about food.

"We'll your up early," Martin said behind me, I perked up and turned around.

"This is when I normally get up," I say to him, he looks at me impressed.

"I'm normally the only one up this early, its nice to have someone to talk to," Martin said back.

"Thank you for taking me in and not killing me, and also giving me a second chance," I told him, he smiled.

"Chase you are one of the nicest people I've ever met, I know you've been all over the place over the past few days, but don't worry, I'll help you get back onto your feet," Martin said. "By the way breakfast is in the main den, enjoy it, your training starts right after," he told me as I rushed down into the main den, there was no one there so I began eating. I had a little bit of deer meet, I ate a few pieces of it and returned outside.

"Well Chase you ate quickly," Martin said.

"Its been a hot minute since I've had something to eat, I didn't eat that much, I wasn't that hungry," I said.

"Well today's mission you will be going out into the wilderness to find food for yourself, you will hunt an animal down and kill it, then you will bring it back to camp," Martin said. I had never killed something before so I had no idea of what I was doing.

"I'll show you," Martin said, we both went out into the wilderness waiting for something to come by, something worth killing at least.

"There's a deer," Martin whispered, he began creeping up on it getting ready to attack it, he then launched, onto the dear latching his teeth into its flesh, he unlodged his teeth and began scratching at the deer, he then got on the back of his neck and he sunk his fangs into the deer's neck, killing it, instantly. He looked at his prey proud of himself.

"This one was young and somewhat defenseless, sometimes it may take more than just a little bite to the neck to take down a dear," Martin said. We brought the deer back to the den for it to be skinned by the butcher wolf and then we continued on. We were walking out into the forest, then I saw a deer.

"Go," Martin said as I ran after the deer, quietly but quickly ran towards the deer wanting to impress. I jumped right onto the dear but I hit it on its underside I clawed the deer to the grown as I didn't let go, I climbed up on top of it clawing it the entire way up, I scratched to make the deer weaker so I could go in for the neck, I had never tasted the taste of blood in my life but it was red and metallic, it didn't taste good but I knew that I needed to get the job done, I launched towards the deer's throat I lodged into it, then I fell something come off, it was the deer's head, I had just decapitated it, its body fell to the ground bleeding badly. Martin just stared at me with shock.

"I've never seen someone decapitate a deer before, it wasn't a pretty sight to see, but for the first time you did amazing. You didn't start in a great position either, you have the skills to pay the bills Chase," he said. "Help me pickup this deer and let's get it back to camp, the other wolves are gonna get a load out of this, they should be up by now," Martin said as we both carried the deer carcus back to the den.

"Hey, Butch, I got a surprise for you, he was busy working with unskinning the deer that Martin had killed a day earlier.

"Woah," he said walking out the door, "you decapitated it, and who's this pup with you," Butch asked.

"It wasn't me who killed it, it was him," Martin said pointing to me. Butch's jaw dropped to the floor.

"Your telling me what now, I don't think I heard you straight," Butch replied back.

"He. Killed. The. Deer," Martin said slowly. "I think we need a blood test, I think he may be part wolf," Martin said. I knew that I was part wolf my mom was a wolf.

"My mom was a wolf, so yes I do have wolf blood," I told them.

"That makes way more sense," Butch said. "Nice to meet you kid, names Butch," he said while putting out his paw and I shaked it, that was when a certain mixed breed came up behind us.

Present Time

The pups looked at me with there jaws dropped. I knew Rocky was in that wolf pack but I never told him the German Shepherd he met was me.

"Chase you would never do that to us, right," Rubble said.

"Of course I wouldn't do that to you Rubble, your one of the sweetest people I know, and that will never change," I told him back.

"Chase, how come you never told me about this," Ryder said, he was just confused and I know he meant it in a nice way.

"I never told you because I thought you were too young to think of the violence that I went through as a young pup, and also I didn't want to tell you that because I thought you would kick me off the team," I told him back.

"What you did were crimes, I know you got revenge on that gang because that was when my parents found you in the cross fire, we thought you weren't involved because you were just standing there, I know you mostly did it in self-defense and all but its still illegal, but how you've devoted yourself to helping your community, your friends, and myself, you have well repaid your sins," Ryder said. I was almost crying at this point and ran up to him and licked him. "I'll always love you Chase no matter what," Ryder said.

"I'll always love you too Ryder and pups," I said. A tear fell from my eye onto me cheek, I felt loved that my family wasn't as disappointed as I thought they would've been, I thought after telling this story I would be kicked off the team, but my family was here to support me no matter what, and I felt like at the point I had the best family in the world
