Author's Note: Umm, well, I have finally decided to try and finish this story and make a couple of new ones with the time everyone has right now. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and I hope if your reading this, it brings joy to your day, now I will say because of the things I'm doing now in school and how many activities I'm doing it's hard to find time to do things, I also just kind of lost inspiration to do much for a while, but I'm back and I do expect to write a couple of new stories while I'm still here and at it, if you've made it this far in the author's note, good for you, that's just my explanation of why I've been gone so long, I finally have the time to write once again so I'm going to get back at it once again and I hope you enjoy the story.

Chase's P. O. V.

A few months have passed as Ryder and myself began to grow. We both learned a lot of things since we met each other, and then one day Ryder had an idea. "I've got a great idea Chase that I know my dad will support." he told me.

"What would that be Ryder sir," I replied, I started using that word because most of Ryder's family was in the military.

"We are going to make a rescue team to help people whether its a small emergency or a big one," the ten year old said smiling. You know, sometimes I forget about how intelligent Ryder was for the age he was. I was all for it, to clear my name even more.

"I love that idea Ryder sir," I told him, so he went to his father and told him his proposal. Of course the Ryder's had tons of money just handing it down from generation to generation. He loved that his son wanted to rescue people and because he had the money too he said yes.

Current Time -3rd Person-

"So pups, that's how the Paw Patrol started. October 12th, 2006," Ryder said looking at Chase.

"But it took a long time before it really actually started, it took about three years to build the lookout because it really wasn't that high of a priority. I had gone through police training and earned several certificates to become a police officer for a year of that time. We grew up a lot together, and learned what it took to become who we are today. Things only changed for the better and as the Lookout was close to completion our future looked brighter than ever, but the story I'll tell next is something Ryder is very personal about, not a lot people know what happened, so I'll ask, please just keep this a secret." Everyone turned their heads to look at Marshall.

"What, I've never shared a secret before," he said innocent as could be. The other six of us just shook our heads as if to say 'oh Marshall' so the story continues on,

Back to The Past -Chase's P. O. V.-

The lookout was nearing completion, I was surprised with how good it looked, it basically was a modern piece of architecture, maybe even ahead of its time, Adventure Bay had even decided to support the building of the tower cutting the costs of the tower in a third. Not to mention it was on an island by itself, that had a highway going through it but would get re-routed around the bay, so the bridge was still there. We went to bed that evening as happy as could be knowing that in just two months the Paw Patrol would be up and running again. I slept next to Ryder as per usual and dozed off, only to remember about two or three in the morning I smelled something. Something that wasn't normal. I smelt like gas, and I knew that wasn't a good thing. I shook Ryder awake and as he woke up he smelled the gas as well as his eyes grew in size of what was happening. He opened the door to his bedroom and Ryder and I went outside with out pajama's on. We thought that mom and dad were working the nightshift tonight. They normally did on Thursday's. So me and Chase went outside and called 911. We told them our house has a gas leak and could explode at any moment. They asked for our address I replied 231 S Main Street. It was a scary time. They had sent out units when at about 3:10 in the morning something unexpected happened. The house exploded. Luckily Ryder and I had gotten far enough away from the house so we weren't injured, we both just stood there in shock of what was happening, I think the entire town of Adventure Bay was up at that point we came out onto the street where the firefighters were now extinguishing the fire after the explosion had happened. We walked back towards the house and watched it burn to the ground, most of it was gone already, it didn't take that long for it to totally burn down. We both sat across the street, Ryder tried calling his parents but the line was dead. I put my head on Ryder's lap to comfort him even though I was sniffling too. The sun was beginning to come up and the fire had almost complete gone away, I had a fear that if the phone line was dead, then they were too. I think Ryder knew the answer, and as we both feared, both of Ryder's parents were confirmed to be dead in the explosion. Ryder already knew it, so he wasn't taken that badly by the news, but then a young Dalmatian came up to comfort Ryder and I. "What's your name," I ask him.

"My name's Marshall, I've been at the fire department since I was born, I'm sorry you lost most of your family," he said back. I thought about the Dalmatian's words for a minute and I pulled him into the hug me and Ryder were in. We sat there a cried for a while before we all realized it was time to move on. The fire chief had come over to us now, and was pleased that his fire pup was comforting people but he knew that he would be a great fit to the team that was about ready to become something special.

"Marshall, I know you'd be good in the Paw Patrol, I wouldn't be upset if you went and joined that team, as a matter of fact I want you too." He said. Marshall sat there for a bit and finally gave the fire chief one last hug and lick as he walked over to them. Even though because of the bad situation. Ryder had seen Marshall and intended on getting him to be the fire pup, so it didn't even take two moments for Ryder to say yes. Truth be told he had made up his mind a while ago that he would be the Paw Patrol's fire pup, we walked up to the mostly completed lookout and sat in the bedrooms at the bottom, it would be our home for the rest of our lives, so we better get used to it, most of our stuff was over here already in the basement, so we didn't loose that much in the fire other than our parents. I guess that was the plus side.

A few weeks had gone by and the lookout was done, we had gotten passed the mourning of Ryder's parents at that point and we all decided we'd move on, remember them but move on, Marshall had become part of the family and as we went to be on June 29th, 2009 we knew the Lookout was complete. Things couldn't go anywhere but up from here, and the three of us looked up and we knew that things were going to get better after catastrophe.

Current Time -Ryder's P. O. V.-

"I still remember that day like it was yesterday," I said to the pups. Chase and Marshall nodded in agreement.

"So that's how you joined the Paw Patrol Marshall," Rubble said. Marshall could only just chuckle, there was a reason he didn't talk about it that much knowing how that day went for him and for what is now his family.

"Yep that was the day," he said as his head kind of dropped to the floor.

"Well let's move onto a better topic. The lookout was done and the Paw Patrol had started totally we had our first rescue on the 12th of August, 2009. Chase stopped traffic while Marshall got a cat down, it was our first ever successful mission, and of course you know the rest of the story, many others were to come," I told them Chase shook his head in agreement. Then we found Rocky going through trash and putting them into recyclable bin or building things from them. Then there was Skye who just loved to fly and found a hiker up in the mountain from a tree she climbed too. Then Zuma who saved a guy from drowning, and then Rubble, who dug Jake out from under the snow. Now that I thought about my pups had done a bunch of awesome and heroic things for our area and I was really proud of them for it. But I knew Chase a troubled pass and it was time for him to tell it, now I just hope something like what happened to him doesn't happen again.

I couldn't be happier, life was good.
