Chasing a Scar

Chapter 5

Chase's P. O. V

It was the night that we would attack the gang, they were located in the back streets of Adventure Bay, it was a surprise attack that no one knew anything about. We had crept up on the street the gang was on, before we attacked I said a few things to myself.

"Mom, dad, probably Storm, I know this isn't right and that its illegal and I could be put down for it, but I'm doing this for you, to avenge your deaths, I just hope you understand, I'll see you soon," I said other wolves round me looked at me but just shook it off.

Sometimes I felt like talking to them was one way to be happy or feel like there still here and I have someone to love. Knowing that I was alone, in my family, that I had no family anywhere around. I just had myself and the pack that I was staying with. I had lost my best friend a few days ago, so I was really feeling alone now. I had witnessed enough death for a life time.

It was dusk as we were approaching the back end of Adventure Bay, where all of the gang activity normally took place, I mean there wasn't really even any violence, it was just the bad part of town, even though there were hardly any crimes committed on that side of town. We had approached up on the gang house. I could here voices inside and I knew everyone else could as well, they wouldn't now what hit him.

"Alright, were going to go right through the door and start this, if you die tonight remember you went down with honor, fighting for someone you love," Martin said looking at me. He knew what I had been through over the course of the past couple of weeks, with losing my parents then Gidget a couple of days ago. We walked up to the door and just with mass pushing knocked it down, there was a weird moment of silence before someone yelled

"ATTACK," one of the leaders of the gang said and the war had started. Little did we know or anyone for that matter that the next door neighbor called 911 and police would soon be there, but until then it was an all out war. I had found someone to dance with as he threw a punch at me, which I dodged with ease, after that I punched him in the stomach making him double over in which I punched him hard in the face, when he came back down he hit the ground hard and asleep.

"Goodnight," I said as I found my next opponent. This was how it worked over the next couple of minutes as I had already beaten about 5 dogs before I heard sirens. I knew it was about time to get out of here as fast as possible. The had guns in their hands at the door.

"Open up, Adventure Bay Police Department," one of the voices said. I decided to lay back, and wait for what they were going to say, there was no point in running, I had already lost so much, if they were to put me down, I would have no problem with it at this point. They came in and cleared the house and when there was no one around but me and a few knocked out or even dead dogs, I was the only one still conscious. 

"What are you doing little pup," one of the officers said to me.

"Getting revenge for my family and what they did to me," I said back, of course I had killed a few of the dogs, I was enjoying the taste of blood in my mouth, it made me feel like I was on top of the world and that it would wash away all of the worries that I had, it turns out, not everything works that way.

"Why, what did they do to you," the officer said with obviously with no idea that this was the gang that had killed my family.

"They killed my family, my friend, and me at any good chance of being something useful for society," I told them. I saw the man with the purple top hat escape, I felt like I needed to do something but now was not the time to do something stupid.

"What's your name little pup, my names Officer Buggs," Buggs asked.

"My names Chase," I told him.

"Well you sure gave them a chase," he joked. I could only help but crack a smile.

"Well Chase, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to take you down to the station, now before we go into the squad car do you have anything to say," Officer Buggs asked me.

"I'll be honest with you, I did kill two pups, and knocked out about another five," I told him, he looked at me with shock.

"You killed a few full grown dogs," he asked. There were three other officers and they dragged Buggs away from that mess. Even  as they were a few feet away from me I could still here them.

"Officer Favignano, Ryder, Jordan, I'm afraid this pup is going to have to go to jail for two counts of murder and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon," Officer Buggs said. I knew I was probably going to be put down, although I didn't know if I was old enough to be put down. 

After their conversation Officer Buggs came back to me and put in two pairs of handcuffs (Because I have four limbs that  I can use to get out of things).

"I'm afraid to tell you this but you are under arrest for murder and aggravated assault, I will let the judge know that you didn't run away, told the truth and was cooperative with us and we appreciate that very much," he said before asking me one question as a dog, I think I would never hear. "Do you have anything that will poke me, stick me, anything like that," he asked.

"Does it look like I have pockets to you, besides my teeth I have nothing, I could care less if you put me down, I don't have anyone anymore, just kill me, right here and now," I told them. It was at this moment Buggs told me that everything would be fine.

"Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law, you have the right to an attorney if you cannot afford an attorney the state of Adventure will provide one for you, do you understand these rights that I've read to you today," Officer Buggs said. I could only nod my head up and down. He shook his head as well and got into the driver's seat of the 2015 Charger, it was a sweet car, I wish I was driving it rather than being a prisoner in the back of one of these. It was sure something if I lived would be on my Christmas, and it was this moment I was inspired to become a police officer, it seemed like a really cool job and that you would meet some cool people on the streets and put the bad guys in jail, and thinking about my family, would be a much more just way of getting revenge. That's what gave me my spark to do what I do.

"Chase you didn't just think about suicide, did you," Marshall said, obviously worried about me.

"Believe me Marshall, it wasn't the first time I had thought about ending it all once and for all, but you pups keep me going and make me not want to do it, because I would think you would not be happy if you lost any of your friends," I said.

"Chase, I didn't know you killed someone, dad told me you were a criminal but not that you had killed a few pups," Ryder said.

"Yep,  I did kill those pups, do I regret it, no, do I now it was wrong, yes, but I did the 'right thing'," I said air quoting those last few words.

"Chase I've never known you to be a violent pup let alone a pup that would kill another pup," Rocky said having questions about his friend.

"Well Rocky, some of us have a rocky past," I said laughing at my own silly joke. The other pups laughed along with me.

"Another question I have is how did you go from murder to strict, and a hard worker," Skye asked. That's a question Ryder could answer.

"The reason why Chase came home with me is so that he felt loved, he which I didn't know at the time, had lost everything, but he needed someone to love him, in which I did, and turned him into a great pup, friend, and teammate," Ryder said. I could only blushed knowing that I had a family, and a family that cared about me more than anything, I've known that for a while but its still nice to feel that in my heart, but I also knew not all good things could last forever.

Author's Note: Finally had time to update this weekend, and yes if you didn't know Officer Buggs is the one and only Bay Area Buggs, Officer Favignano is obviously Jeff Favignano, and Officer Jordan is Polecat, Code Zero at it finest, I'm not telling you who Officer Ryder is, but I think you know who it is, I love you all, and remember together we know more.
