The days passed swiftly but not fast enough the days began to darken to Nicole. Something was coming and she was sure it was no good. How much bad it was. She couldn't tell you. But something was coming and it was no good.
"I can't believe I'm closing early. But if the gut says it. You do it. No matter what." She said as she turned out the lights of the shop. "Mother please watch over me as I go along on the roads. It was still pretty late but on Saturdays she held small parties that never failed to be popular among younger city goers and even those from the Red Gala. However tonight just wasn't the night to do it, it seemed. And she always followed her gut as it lead her the most extra events. Most that were just good luck a few bad. Including the idea of becoming a guardian.
"It's been so long since I've seen my little girl..."
She whipped around. Nothing. No one was behind her. And No one was in front of her. Nothing there.
"And she's grown to look like her mother. I bet she's just as righteous. Following what is right." The voice came again jumping from spot to spot and it seemed that this was the person or things did not want to be seen.
"Who are you? Show yourself." She said looking around her. " Come on out. I won't do anything unless you want a fight..." She said her hand on her thigh pistol. She trusted Lymn City. But that didn't stop her from protecting herself. Especially since being a guardian was a full time job.
"Oh I don't want to fight I wasn't sure I should make myself known just so early in the story line. The summer seems to have come back But a winter will follow once more." the voice said and seemed to flow all around her.
"Come on out. I'm not afraid to use force if you don't show yourself." She said pulling the pistol this time only to turn and finally see a tall figure.
"What, gonna shoot me?" They chuckled and walked closer. Hidden in the darkness of the night she couldn't see who they were. "Come on little butterfly do it. Shoot me. Perhaps I deserve it." They said. It was a male with a thick Asian accent. She couldn't place if she knew the voice however. It seemed to be familiar. but she didn't know how.
"Who are you and how do you know me and my mother?" She asked now a but shaken by the fact that she was looking at a figure that knew her. The atmosphere falling. It was cold. So cold she should've been able to see her breath in from of her. But couldn't. There was something else going on. Something that haunted the very pit of her soul.
"How does anyone know anything. Welcome to a preview of the winter...My dear child..." He stepped forward and she could see his face. A look of horror crossed her expression.
"How are you... still alive. I thought you died..." she had to pause a moment the gun falling to the cement. "Far.... Yukino?"
"In the flesh my dear child. Little butterfly. Welcome to what is the truth." He smiled before taking a quick turn away. Vanishing into thin air as if he was never there to begin with. The only sign on him being a small note in the ground.
'This is the start of a new Winter. And you fall like your mother.'
