CHAPTER 16 - ANSWERS

Upon entering the familiar room of Master Luke I immediately threw him my whole body with arms wide open.

"Fujin." He also exclaimed. Master Luke immediately stood up from his table as he also opened his arms for me.

I hugged Master Luke with all my might. I smelled his broad chest and his vanilla odor that I cannot get satiated with.

He lowered his face to me as he cuffed my face. "You made me worried. You were supposed to be back five days ago but you weren't."

The handsome and caring face of Master Luke stared at me longingly. He was obviously worried.

His long eyelashes extended to his glasses. His long pony-tailed brown hair gently flowed from his shoulder which mixes with the color of his golden eyes. His skin was so soft as he touched my face. As usual he was wearing his black turtle neck and brown pants with his white laboratory coat hanging until his knees.

"I'm sorry Master. I'm so sorry." I started to tear up because I was a stupid and foolish prick.

Master Luke's hands trailed to my fingers. He kissed each one of them and felt sad at my decapitated ring finger.

"Don't worry. We will try to fix this." Master Luke held my left hand with his long fingers. He put my hand near his mouth and kissed it lightly especially near my lost finger.

"Re-really?" I was filled with hope. But I know that Master Luke is capable of anything once he sets a goal.

"Come with me to the laboratory." He said with a small smile on his face.

Just like the old times, Master Luke and I would go anywhere with him holding my hand. Until now, nobody in the Headhunts question our gesture. Master Luke is that close to me.

We walked towards the annex of the building. I missed the ambiance of the place. The smell of metal and electricity fills the air. Although the Headhunts quarters is located in an area enclosed of refined walls, inside could be compared to a big compound which harbors the latest technology one could afford of.

Only Master Luke, was able to create this modern and peaceful place in this crushed and wretched world.

Master Luke pressed his pointing finger to a scanner at the door or his laboratory. the sliding machine door opened automatically and we went inside. Like the usual, there were also other scientists inside working on the latest technology.

Master Luke led me to his personal laboratory room and made me sit on the patient's bed. He brought out tools from his cabinet and set it on the table beside me.

He looked at me intently and said, "This could take a sting for a while dear, but please bear with it."

"But... Master?"

"Yes, what is it Fujin?" He asked me.

"Well, I am quite skeptical about this procedure because, it is clear that my finger has been amputated already. Of course, it cannot be fixed even with modern science and all. Unless Master would replace it with a machine." I explained.

Master Luke just gave me a tender smile. "True my dear but trust me on this." He looked down to the floor. "It may have been awkward to you but..."

He went to the furthest side of the room and pressed a button to which another cabinet opened spreading white foggy smoke. "I kept your finger and preserved it."

My eyes widened in deep shock.

From the cabinet, he got out a box and went beside me. He sat on a stool and opened the box which produced more of the foggy smoke. Inside was my ring finger which has been decapitated to me when I was in the Stipz' turf.
