CHAPTER 8 - ESCAPE

It was already three days straight and no life could be seen. I have been riding the motorcycle. It was a good thing that the members placed basic supplies on the motorcycle like food, clothes and some medicine.

The path was like an isolated city. Trash and debris scattered as if it was a dead city.

It is only I who was moving and living at the area. I know not far from here would be a small town with a stay-in building where travelers could rest for a moment.

From a far, I noticed a rare sight.

A growing tree. It was still young though.

I smiled at the thought.

Because of pollution and shit, trees are very rare nowadays.

Then I noticed its green leaves...

I remembered Mir's green eyes against his chocolate colored skin. It was still a mystery for me on why he helped me escaped at that time.

Maybe he is a spy of Master Luke?!

I know everything about Master Luke and his connections.

I remember the bloodied left arm of Mir falling on the floor upon being sliced by the katana of Daiki.

Fuck...

I need to hurry home.

I speed up the motorcycle.

It was already twilight when I saw the busting small town I was looking for. Its small twinkling lights could be easily seen as compared to its dark surroundings.

I entered the town and looked for a simple inn.

I parked the motorcycle to the side of the inn and wore black shawl to cover my whole face except for my eyes.

I went inside the inn and immediately proceeded to the receptionist. The lady looked at me with caution.

"For one room please." I said with a low voice.

"Understood," she answered.

She then scampered with a small cabinet at her back and produced me with a key.

I proceeded to the room and opened the door. I turned on the lights and scanned at my surroundings.

The place was small. It was made of wood all over. It is not good but better to spend a night or two. The bed is found on the right side of the room and on the left was a small round wooden table and a single chair. The shower room is probably behind the door beside it.A window across the room enlightens the room.

I closed the door and set down my belongings. I started to scamper inside my belongings on what needs would I need to buy for the next three days until I get to the Headhunt Headquarters.

The next day, I was walking around the town. I tried to count and remember the things that I would be needed for my next travel for the following three days going finally to the Headhunts.

I bought simple cheap food, supplements and water, and some small daggers which I can use for the upcoming journey.

I blended myself to the crowd to avoid any suspicious eyes. I also became aware to any person I am transacting to because who knows that any person could be part of the Stripz.
