CHAPTER 22 - THE EXCHANGE

"Fujin, son... Wake up." I heard the voice of Doctor Bockes.

I opened my eyes and noticed that it was already in the morning.

I tried to sit up the bed. My head still hurts but it wasn't as bad as yesterday.

Then I remembered by dream.

It was so real.

I was with Daiki.

He was still so handsome as ever.

"I don't want to force you, Fujin, but we have some kind of trouble." Doctor Bockes looked troubled.

"Doctor?" I replied. "Why? What happened?"

"Both the factions of Stripz and Headhunts are just outside the wall of the Kingdom. They are looking for you."

What??!!

"What are they doing, Doctor?" I panicked. "Did they join forces?"

Doctor Bockes sighed. "I am not sure, Fujin. But they are definitely here to get you. If we won't hand you over, they said that they will attack the place."

I stood up.

I feel a little weak, but I know I can fight.

"There are a lot of innocent people in the area." I looked at Doctor Bockes. "This place is a paradise in this wretched world. It must not be destroyed."

Doctor Bockes just looked at me silently.

"Let's go." I urged him.

We went to the gate of the Kingdom and saw Alucar as well as other soldiers beside him. They are standing at the top of the wall and gate and are ready in their position to fight at any command of Alucar.

"Alucar!" I shouted at him as Doctor Bockes and I went to his side.

He looked at me and just nodded. "Fujin." He replied.

"FUJIN!!" A familiar voice shouted below at the side beyond the wall.

I looked at the direction and saw Haru and Mir. They were with people who I presume are both from either the Stripz or the Headhunts because they were wearing the color of Stripz which is black and the color of the Headhunts' uniform which is brown and green.

"Long time no see!!" Shouted Haru. "You bitch! You need to come with us!!"

"And why would he?" Alucar thundered his voice.

Mir stepped walked forward towards us. He never looked away while walking and was just staring at us atop the walls.

"The Stripz went to the Headhunts in order to retrieve you. Luke told Daiki to enter the quarters and he never left there. Then these members of the Headhunts told us that in order for us to get Daiki back, we need to have you." Mir looked at us unwaivering.

He really looks likes Alucar. The only difference is that Alucar has longer hair than Mir. Alucar has also complete body parts but Mir has an eye patch on his right eye and has a metal left arm.

"An exchange." Doctor Bockes whispered.

"If you won't come with us, then we will have to take things by force!!" Haru raised his arms in the air. "You do care about this place, right Fujin??!"

Alucar knotted his eyebrows and clicked his tongue.

Haru continued shouting. "And you can see that both Stripz and the Headhunts teamed up to get you. I won't guaranty peace if you won't come!!"

The heat from the dessert was just as heated as the conversation was. Still, after Haru spoke everything was silent.

Nobody was moving as if everyone was being cautious and any movement could start a war.

Suddenly a member of the Headhunts raised his gun towards us. "Sir Fujin, you really need to come!!"

Then at that moment everyone raised their own weapons aiming at each other. The soldiers of the Kingdom also raised their guns towards the enemy in front of us.

"WAIT!! WAIT!!" I shouted to for them to stop.

"I am coming with you!"

Alucard and Doctor Bockes looked at me. They are both worried and surprised.

"Fujin..." Doctore Bockes said.

I looked at him. "I will be alright Doctor. And besides..." I looked at the horizon beyond the people in front of me. "Daiki is there. He might have been waiting for me."

Doctor Bockes gave a huge sigh. "If that is what you want."

I looked at the people below us. "I am coming."

I went down the wall. Both Doctor Bockes and Alucar are both behind my back.

"Open the gates!" Alucar commanded his solders.

"Yes sir!!" The soldiers were on their toes. They started to pull the large rope beside the iron gate. The large gate started to creak. Dust and sand started to cloud beneath the moving gate.

Doctor Bockes reached my both hands. "Wait for me. I will go give you some things that you will definitely need." Doctor Bockes went inside the building to get some things.

I smiled at his back while he was running.

"Be careful." Alucar said.

"Yes. Thanks." I told him. "Thank you for everything. For saving me and for letting me stay here for a few days."

I smiled at him.

Suddenly he got close to me and held my arms.

He gently kissed my forehead.

H-huhh??!!

I was bewildered of what he did.

"You could always come back." He said.

I gave a little laugh.

"I'm not sure..." I looked at the opening gates. "Daiki is there. He needs me."

I smiled back at Alucar.

"Daiki, huh..." Alucar smiled back. He gave an expression of a defeated person.

"Fujin!!" Doctor Bockes returned with a bag. I bet it is full of clothes and some food that I might need for the next few days travelling towards the Headhunts quarters.

"Thanks, Doctor Bockes." I got the bag.

Doctor Bockes embraced me and I embraced him back.

"I will miss you, Fujin." He said. His eyes look like they would have tearing falling from them any minute now.

"Thank you Doctor Bockes. Thank you for for telling me everything. For telling the truth." I smiled at him.

"Good luck, Fujin. Everything is up to you." He pushed me gently towards the gate. "Fight for what you think is right. Don't let fate crush you."

Fate, crush me??

"Yes!! He's here!!" I heard the shouts of Haru. He was walking towards me. He grabbed by wrist. "Let us go."

Haru and I walked past Mir whom I saw was looking at Alucar.

"Come on!" Haru urged Mir.

I saw Mir just bowed to Alucar, and Alucar slightly nodded at him.

And thus we went back to the Headhunts quarters.
