"So this party's gone off without a hitch" I turned and smiled at the familiar voice behind me.

"Seems like it, but the night is still young. Who's to say there won't be a hitch" I smiled. We stood on the balcony looking out over the night. 

"Are we flirting?" He smirked.

I laughed. "I guess we are"

"Well if we are, I do have to say you look absolutely stunning". I blushed and giggled slightly. He chuckled. 

"Whats changed?" I asked seriously, earning a confused look from nate. 

"What do you mean?" He asked leaning against the railing.

"A month ago you were too scared to be with me because you thought you were going to be arrested. And now you are flirting with me in public, not to mention in front of you family" I said nodding over to the Lisa who was talking to her aunt and holding Finns hand. He was looking at her so dreamily, like he was in love. I'd seen the same when Finn had been talking and when Lisa was silent. She saw the trust. And that felt weird to see in two 17 year olds. In her friend especially. 

Hmmm.... I thought What happened outside? 

"Love itself is difficult at your age, especially if its the real thing" Is what her mother told her. I wondered whether or not they were in love. Lisa and Finn Mortem, hmm? It kinda goes I thought.

"Hello? Earth to Cygnet?" He said waving his hand in front of my face and bringing me back to reality. 

"Sorry" I mumbled.  Slowly coming out of my daze. 

"No need, you staring off into the distance gives me a moment to admire your beauty" He said earning another blush. "What you thinking about cyg?"

"Whether or not your cousin and her boyfriend are in love?" He looked over to where they were. 

"They look like it" He smiled. "I wonder if she'll still go"

I turned and looked at him. 

"Go where?" I asked curiously. What was he talking about? 

"She didn't tell you, c'mon cygnet its her only chance that she'll be able to live with her parents. For more than a week at a time"

"Your not say that she acctually considered moving to America"

"Cygnet....she bought her ticket"

"I'm sorry Finn can I drag her away for a moment" I asked to which Finn nodded. 

"Whats wrong cyg?" She asked as I dragged her through the people.

"Why didn't you tell me"

"What?" 

"THAT YOUR MOVING TO AMERICA!" 

"Cygnet can you please quiet down" 

"HOW CAN I? I'M YOUR BESTFRIEND AND YOUR LEAVING ME ALONE TO LIVE IN THIS HELL HOLE" 

Before I could say more she dragged me into the female toilets. 

"I'm not sure cygnet" She said calmly. 

"What are you not sure about?" 

"I don't want to leave! I love my life, I love my family, I love my friends, and I love Finn but i'm scared". 

"Don't go, if i have to face those teachers alone for another year without you. I might kill one of them" I screeched. She laughed. 

"I'll visit you in prison" she smiled. 

"Yeah" I said "I'm sorry for freaking and for the fact that most people in that room didn't know and I kinda just released your secret".

"Shit! Finn!" She turned to leave but i caught her arm.

"What happened between you two?" I asked 

"He professed his love for me" She sang dramatically.

"Wow miss knight, i never knew a boys words could sway you so easily"

She smirked and walked out the bathroom door.

"You didn't have to Lisa!" Nathan laughed as he took a swig from his beer.

"Of course i did, but it wasn't all me. Cygnet and Blake helped a lot" I assured him.

"Just one question though, why didn't you tell anyone your mutt boyfriend was coming"

"Hmm" I said searching for an answer. "Why didn't you tell me you had drunken sex with my bestfriend?"

He coughed uncomfortably. "I - ah - didn't know you knew about that" 

"Trust me, seeing you and cygnet in a tangled naked mess, was not the highlight of my day". 

"sorry" He mumbled. 

We sat in silence for a minute or so before I had the courage to ask.

"Are you going to break her heart? Because blood or not, you break her and I break your face!"

He chuckled but said seriously. "I would never intentionally hurt her"

"Just remember, its always least intentional that hurts the most. Because it gives you a chance to get close to each other, then you both end up broken"

He stared at me for a moment. "When did you become so knowledgeable in the book of pain and hurt?"

"When my best friend died" I said softly, earning a hug from my big cousin Nate.
