My head pounded, like id eaten a brick.....or glass.

I woke on a mattress. Only 3 metres away was cygnet, asleep on her bed, with Mathews arm around her waist.

When did they get back together? Did they-no their clothes were still on.

It finally dawned on my what I had done last night. I let out a groan, before slapping my moth shut.

Cygnet hadn't woken up, neither did her boy toy.

I slipped out of the bed and into the kitchen, where my phone sat on the bench.

It red 10:00 am. I dialled the first number that came to mind, but stopped before clicking call.

Should I?

No...

Maybe...

Coward.

I put my phone back. "Shit" I muttered.

"Morning" I turned to see cygnets brother, carter, leaning against the door frame. He's 19 now.

I fake smiled before again picking up my phone and walking back to the bedroom.

Cygnets eyes were wide as she stared at Mathew. I hid just by the door so I could hear them. This skill came in handing when it

"How did you get here" I heard her whisper.

"I-I-I don't know" he started but something stopped him. "We didn't
- I mean - you and I...."

"No! No we didn't" cygnet quickly finished off.

"But I Uhm kinda have a confession".

"Don't" she muttered. I heard silence, well near silence.

I peeked in. They had their tongues down each other's throats.

I let out a cough, making cygnet push Mathew across the room. He stood back up quickly, trying to gather whatever dignity he had left.

He walked out the door. I chuckled as I turned back to cygnet.

She ran her fingers through her hair.

"Sooo.....good sleep?" She sounded desperate enough to change the topic.

I shrugged. "I guess, but my head pounds".

"Yeah the paramedics said that might happen" cygnet said as a look o concern. "You should call her".

"Why? she couldn't care less" I grumbled putting my hands in my pockets.

"She put on a brave face last night, but she was just as scared I was".

I scoffed. "Sure".

She shook her head. She wanted to say more, I could tell, but she didn't.

She simply got dressed and left.

Sitting at a booth in the food court, I scanned the crowds. All aged people were tripping over each other to talk to someone. Or get a photo. I don't know.
