''she's going to be okay Lorna. She's in medical till they decide what to do with her. Red, Alex and Norma take it in turns keeping her company. Maybe if we ask Mr Caputo he might let you see her'' Lorna couldn't breathe, everyone will blame her thats why no ones called, but its Nicky's fault not hers, thats what she convinces herself. she hadn't even realised Piper had stood up and was on the phone until she heard Mr Caputos name.

''Hi Mr Caputo- I know you asked me not to call but I was wondering if Lorna and I could visit Nicky in medical, she was a really close friend of ours'' Lorna watched intently.

''yeah, Morello, the one who got married in prison'' Piper was watching Lorna smiling rolling her eyes every so often.

''thanks Mr Caputo, she'll really appreciate it'' Lorna looked up hopefully at Piper.

''he said we can go in and see her but it'd involve going through the prison, I don't know if that would bring up bad memories for you it wasn't the best time in your life''

'it wasn't the worst either, I want to see her I dealt with seeing that place for 36 months I can deal with it for a few minutes' Lorna smiled but she was afraid to go back there, to see the family who most likely blame her for Nickys overdose.

'did Alex say if it was accidental or-'

''it wasn't accidental. Mr Caputo said we can go in during visitation tomorrow. I've got to go Polly needs me''

'Thanks Piper for coming over. isn't it weird seeing your best friend with your ex fiancé?'

''not really I have Alex. i'll pick you up tomorrow. are you going to tell Vinnie your going?''

'I don't know' she really didn't. maybe Vinnie didn't tell her because he didn't even get the calls, maybe she just gave Red the wrong number, sure Vinnie wouldn't hide that from her, he was the one who suggested she should go see them. if he did know he'd only not tell her because he loves her.

An hour later Vinnie got home with Carmine and made Lorna and himself some spaghetti bolognese for dinner. Lorna contemplating if she should ask about the calls or not.

'if I wanted to go to the prison, to visit , how would you feel?' Lorna asked hesitantly.

''sure babe, whatever you want but I can't drive you up. Maybe you can go with whats her name Piper?''

'yeah. she said that Nicky tried to call, I gave her your number so she could ring you, but I think I gave her the wrong number. she thought I didn't wanna talk to her' Vinnie looked at Lorna as if he wanted to say something but didn't know how.

''Piper and I are going up tomorrow then if it's okay with you?''

'who's gonna look after Carmine, I can't I gotta work'

''I thought I could take him with me''

'Pison's no place for a baby Lorna'

''I know, Franny can't she's got enough on with her kids. Piper's friend Polly might be able to. I'll ring her'' Lorna wanted to bring Carmine with her Nicky hadn't seen him since he was born, but she knew that'd only remind Nicky of Vinnie who was never a person Nicky was a fan of.

'Hey Piper, could Polly and Larry look after Carmine whilst we're visiting, my sister can't and my other family aren't exactly-'

''I'm sure they can I'll go ask Polly now she's just in the other room'' Lorna could hear Piper ask Polly who she could her agree asking lots of questions.

''she said yes but she wants to talk to you''

'oh sure'

''Hi you must be Lorna Morello, I don't mind looking after Carmine, if you just write a list of any allergies and nap times and that sort of stuff and some milk if you breast feed'' Polly sounded excited and giddy like a little kid, Lorna smiled, Piper told her a lot about Polly but she didn't expect her to care to actually want to help her and so gladly.

'yeah I can do that thanks Polly'

''no problem i'll give you back to Piper''

''I'll pick you up at 9 and we can drop Carmine off on the way''

'okay, thank Polly for me again will you' Piper hung up and Lorna released a breath she didn't realise she was holding. tomorrow she will see Nicky and the prison for the first time in 4 months and she didn't know if she was ready. she wrote down everything for Carmine and packed his bag before getting into bed laying on Vinnie's chest the way they do every night and talk about their days.

That night Lorna didn't sleep well. what would she say to Red if she sees her, will she be mad at her? will she be happy to see her?
