Later that evening Alex pushed around the mush on her tray at dinner. she noticed Red approach and sit down opposite her.

'why they can't give me decent ingredients to cook with I have no idea' Red huffed.

''sorry Red but it's disgusting''

'no need to tell me I already know, and I promise I won't starve you out again' Alex let out a deep chuckle placing her forehead in the palms of her hand.

'how did it go at visitation?'

''alright, it gets harder, seeing them leave knowing that I can't go with them. not yet anyway. Morello says hi by the way'' Alex said finally forcing some food into her mouth with a grimace.

'she's a sweet girl' Red said, she always had a soft spot when it came to Lorna even when Lorna turned her back on Red in MAX. Alex nodded in response not what else to say to the mother of their family.

''she took the collage with her, she's gonna have to hide it from Vince though'' Alex rolled her eyes, she hated the guy even though she never actually met him. who ever your best friend hates you hate, right?

'Vinnie is a nice young man'

''bullshit'' Alex got up as soon as she finished force feeding herself and threw her tray onto the pile as she stormed out not prepared to deal with anyones shit she doesn't know why that visitation had pissed her off so much but it just did.

Lorna entered her apartment hoping Vinnie wasn't back from work yet the collage in her hand. she hadn't put it down since getting it.

'Lorna?' Vinnie shouted from their kitchen.

''oh hi honey. how was work?'' Lorna responded entering the kitchen.

'shit. did you go to the prison? whatcha got there?' Lorna froze not knowing how to explain it. she could lie she's gotten good at it.

''the family made me it as a getting out present but they never got the chance to give it to me'' Lorna stared at the collage. the idea that Nicky put so much effort into making it for her made her heart warm.

'why didn't they give it to blondie?' Vinnie suddenly looked frustrated.

''her names Piper and I don't hon it don't matter it was nice to see Alex''

'you didn't see the lesbian then'

''Alex is a lesbian but I think you're thinking of Nicky and no she wasn't there''

'good' Lorna looked at her husband a look of shock and confusion on her face. she approached her husband and turned him to face her.

'I don't want you going back there. I don't want you to have any contact with those criminals' Vinnie said tightening his hold on Lorna's upper arm.

''but they're my second family. they looked after me my entire sentence. if I didn't have them I might not be here and anyway I was one of those criminals'' Lorna said pushing Vinnie away from her.

Vinnie slapped her. Lorna's eyes filled with tears but she refused to let them fall.

'Babe I'm so sorry I didn't mean to. I fucked up, shit I'm sorry' Vinnie said slowly approaching Lorna as to not scare her almost asking for permission to hug her to which she didn't objectify.

''it's ok honey. it was my fault'' Lorna said into Vinnie's chest.

'Larry dropped Carmine off said he was well behaved' Vinnie said trying to break the awkward silence between them that never happened between her and Nicky.
