after Piper and Lorna left Red came into the room to shout at her daughter, shortly followed by Alex calling her a crazy person and ironically Caputo came to tell her she wasn't being sent to psych and that she can go back to her shared cube with Alex to which she was happy to get out of that room. Nicky had always found medical so depressing probably due to Miss Rosa spending a lot of her time there whilst in Litchfield before Lorna helped her escape by giving her the van.

as she walked through the corridors getting the expected stares she wondered how many people knew she tried to kill herself, she was never shy and had probably fucked half the women in here so she was no hidden figure within Litchfield so its unsurprising that people know her so maybe, she thought, they just noticed she was missing. 

when she made It to her and Alex's shared cube the latter gave her the famous Alex Vause ' Are You Fucking Kidding Me?!' face.

'so you complain when she doesn't visit then when she does you tell her to leave that makes no fucking sense Nichols' Alex had spent so much time with Red she was becoming more and more like her.

''all she ever talks about is Vinnie like I don't need a reminder. y'know the number she gave Red was right she checked it with one she copied from her phone before coming in. Vinnie obviously doesn't want her to speak to me. she gave me her number though.''

'can I have it. I'd like to speak to her, she may have been the love of your life but she was still my friend.'

''whatever. she wasn't the love of my life Vause anyway. I don't love I fuck girls, thats it'' Nicky said trying to sound convincing.

'bullshit' Alex responded. Nicky handed the piece of paper Lorna gave her to Alex. the brunette thanked her before leaving the dorm to go to the phones. Alex waited till it was her turn dialling Lornas number.

'Nicky? I'm so-'

''Lorna it's Alex''

'oh hey how ya doing?'

''as good as you can in prison. Nicky really cares about you that's why it's hard for her to hear about how you love someone else.''

'Vinnie's safe, he loves me'

''Warren loved Piper didn't mean they got together. look I didn't ring to judge you or tell you what a huge fucking mistake you made I came to ask if you can come next visitation theres something I want to give you that I should have given you a long time ago''

'I'll try if not I'm sure Piper can get it to me' The phone line went dead their call time over.

as Alex reached hers and Nicky's shared cube she look around to make sure Nicky wasn't in sight before lifting up her mattress to where she hid the collage Nicky made a long time ago, so much had happened since then, the riot, Piper and Alex's wedding, Lorna's baby, Vinnie, everything changed since that Christmas. Alex stared tracing where the bride stood replaced with Lorna's face with a headless groom from where Nicky ripped off the drawing of herself she put over the original. Alex blamed herself, she mocked Nicky for it, pulled out the insecurity of the love she never wanted to feel for the brunette and shoved it back in her face.

It was visitation day and Alex still didn't know if Lorna was coming or not but she had to speak to Red to see if the Russian could keep her daughter distracted.

'Hey Red' Alex greeted the woman with her deep rough voice.

''ah Alex what can I do for you?''

'I was hoping you could distract Nicky during visitation I have something I want to give Piper for Lorna but I don't want Nicky to see it'

''can I ask what it is?''

'sure, its something Nicky made Lorna for Christmas but decided against giving it to her. its a collage with magazine cutouts of all the places Lorna has said she wanted to travel and where Nicky said to me she was going to take Lorna when they're both out. in the centre it had a bride and groom but they were replaced by drawings Nicky did of her and Lorna'

''well Nicky never showed me this''

'I don't know why she showed me. so can you distract her?'

''of course''

Alex waited in the line for visitation managing to sneak the collage away from the dorms after Red took Nicky to do some gardening. Entering the visitation room Alex saw both Lorna and Piper at a table waiting for her, as they made eye contact both girls stood up bringing Alex into a hug before sitting opposite each other.

'Lorna this is what I wanted to give you'

''what is it?''

'Nicky made this..' Piper interrupted with a look of amusement and surprise on her face. 'I thought you threw it away?'

'I was going to. its been under my mattress the entire time. I don't know how it's still here after the riot and all' Lorna sat still staring speechless at the collage.

''Nicky made it?'' asked Lorna softly.

'yeah for secret Santa. There used to be a drawing of her as the groom but she ripped it off. she tried to tell me it was a joke but I saw right through her' Alex let out a deep chuckle at the idea of her best friend trying to hide something from her.

''why didn't she give it to me?''

'Because she loves you and was afraid you'd shut her down. which lets be real, you would.' Lorna didn't respond just traced the area where the groom used to be with her ringed finger.

'why do you stay with him? I know you don't love him' Alex gave Lorna a hard stare.

''I do''

'whatever' Alex took her attention away from Lorna to where her wife was sat.

'I'll be out soon babe, promise' Alex said taking Pipers hands into hers.

''I know, I miss you''

'I miss you too'

''Visitation is over! all visitors please make your way to the exit'' CO Bell shouted.

'do you want this back' Lorna said timidly.

''no its for you. I'd hide it from Vinnie though, don't think he wants you to have any contact with any of us'' Lorna hugged Alex tightly who put her arms round the neck of the shorter girl.

'thanks Alex, say hi to Red for me. can you say sorry to Nicky too' Alex just nodded her head before making her way to the prisoner exit.

as she stepped back into the prison she leant against the wall and took a deep breath.
