The events of the riot got everyone sent to MAX where they stayed for 4 months before being transferred back to the other less shittier shit hole that is Litchfield minimum security.

''Hey Nicky!'' Lorna came bounding in to the dorms that were thankfully no longer overcrowded and were back to single beds instead of the bunks MCC put in. Lorna looked giddy bouncing from one foot to the other, Nicky assumed Vinnie had called or sent a photo of their baby, Carmine. Nicky had tried to hate the baby but she couldn't there was so much of Lorna in him and so little of the prick that took Lorna from her that she loved him.

'what's up kid? if this has got anything to do with Vinnie, I ain't interested alright' Nicky said not looking up from the book she's reading.

''I'm getting out, on Sunday'' Nicky thought out what Lorna had just said, todays Thursday that meant she had 3 full days before Morello would leave her behind, the family behind. she'll move on with little Carmine and Vinnie and Nicky will still be locked up. For Lornas sake she put a smile on her face.

'That's great kid, I'm happy for you' it came out a lot less sincere than she hoped.

'eh you'll be back with Vinnie, start to raise young Carmine, he won't even remember you not being there these last 5 months. You get to move on from this shit hole'

''I won't forget you honey, or Red, or the rest of the family, I'll come visit''

'nah you won't, it's cool Mercy never came to visit Trisha, never answered her calls either. I don't expect either from you not when you got your perfect hetero life thats completely based on a fantasy' it came out cold and harsh as Nicky turned back to her book so Lorna couldn't see the pain of what she was saying, more to herself than Lorna.

''Piper comes to visit Alex I'm sure she'd-''

'They're married, we're not and we're never gonna be'

''I can't believe your still blaming me for finding someone else. I'm going to see Red at least she'll be genuinely happy for me'' with that the petite brunette was gone. Nicky groaned putting her head in her hands regretting everything she said to Lorna, she couldn't help it, whenever anything to do with Vinnie is mentioned or remotely involves the guy it turns a trigger inside her making her feel cold. he was prepared to throw everything with Lorna away if it wasn't for Nicky, she'd never admit that to Morello she couldn't, hell she doesn't even know why she did it in the first place. 

SUNDAY

Lorna was running round the halls taking in the corridors of the place she called home for the last 2 and a bit years, hoping she'd never return. She didn't know if she should visit or not, maybe Mercy had the right idea to just move on from this place, but how could she forget everyone, everything she'd experienced.

'Morello lets go, it's time' she nodded she hadn't had chance to say goodbye to anyone except Jones. she followed the guard to where she'd get released but couldn't stop thinking about if the family were avoiding her, she was going to come back she'd already rang Piper to ask if they could come up for visitation together to which Piper agreed so she couldn't understand why they thought she wouldn't come back. As she made her way to the exit she saw the family stood as near to the exit as they could get.

'hey kid' Nicky said when Morello walked over to them she looked almost emotionless.

'I guess this is goodbye, maybe when I get out we could catch up if it isn't too much of a reminder of prison' she was cold this time looking Lorna right in her eye all the love that was once there is gone.

''I'm gonna come visit, Piper said I can drive up with her for visitation I ain't gonna forget about you hon, it may be a couple of months before I can come gotta focus on getting a job to look after Carmine''

'sure you will kid' with that Nicky rolled her eyes and walked off doing what she does best building an iron gate round her heart and throwing away the key. 

'ignore my daughter it's hard for her to see you go and when things get hard she pushes away her feelings, its who she is. I'll try convince her to ring you if you can give me a contact' Red said holding out a piece of paper and a pencil.

''uh sure I can give you Vinnie's number'' Lorna took the pencil and paper from Red and wrote down Vinnie's number before handing it back to Red.

''I'll come visit you too Red. thanks for everything you've done for me i'm gonna miss you'' Lorna said tears coming to her eyes before hugging Red tightly.

'don't get yourself back in here Lorna, you have a baby and a husband now you need to focus on them first, good bye Lorna'

''Let's go Morello'' Lorna followed the guard to the exit waving at the people she once saw as a family to go outside to her actual family, like Red said she's got to focus on Vinnie and Carmine. she saw Vinnie waiting for her but like every time she saw him she didn't feel anything, of course she was happy to see him, like seeing a friend not her husband nevertheless she hugged and kissed him before taking Carmine out of Vinnie's arms, holding her baby close to her.

'Let's go Lorna I got a surprise planned' Lorna strapped Carmine in his seat before sitting In the front.

''it feels weird to be out. I used to drive the van but even then I always knew I'd go back there by the end of the day and I won't have to again''

'are you not going to visit your prison friends, they seem to really care about you. the one who rang me she convinced me to come back and not leave you'

''they called you? who was it?''

'she didn't leave a name. so are you going to come up for visitation?'

''I don't know. Nicky, she don't wanna see me. I'll probably come see Red every so often she looked after me the entire time I was here''

'what happened with Nicky?'

''lotta stuff, she was one of the first people to genuinely care about me''

'now you got me and Carmine, c'mon lets go home'

''yeah lets go''

they say home is where the heart is thats why Lorna doesn't feel like she's going home as they leave the prison because her heart is there with Nicky no matter how much she tried to deny it.
